Wolverine's not really known to be a happy guy. We see that right away in the trailer. He's a man with a lot of demons. We've seen some teaser trailers and know Wolverine is going to end up becoming mortal. Too bad it's poor timing because he's about to face an onslaught of threats.

I really want to be excited for this movie.

Sadly I still don't have high expectations for this movie. Especially after Origins. But hopefully itll be awesome. I do think that Jackman will do the character justice tho.

Oooh no healing factor, that's a storyline goin on in comics right now,isn't it? Don't kno why but I'm just not getting into this movie...

Looks like the same old thing again. Really wish they would reboot this and give it the treatment Man of Steel is getting. So much potential being wasted.

I just don't understand the whole "I don't want these amazing powers, I just want to be ordinary" mindeset. I can understand that he has been through a lot because of his mutation, but getting rid of it won't reverse what has happened to him, why would he want to give up near immortality for a chance to be a lonely and fragile human?

I don't know how I feel about this....

I don't know why everybody is saying "this movie will suck because the last one sucked" You pepole realise that it's completely different pepole making this movie, right?

I am insanely excited for this film but I just can't bring myself to watch the trailer. As with anything else, the less I know, the more I end up enjoying the film!

Thank you! I was about to point that out. We do have different director now. Who knows if James Mangold can deliver this movie. As I said in previous post, I will definitely go to theater and check it out for myself.

Looks pretty cool, i dont know about the others but i absolutely loved Wolverine Origins (and X men first class, other movies not so much, specially X men last stand to be that sucked)

Eh, I think it's just that Fox's X-universe is a bit of a mess right now and people kinda just want to start over with a clean slate. And having this movie still tied to the others puts a bit of a damper on it.

I'm not writing the movie off and there is some stuff in the trailer I really like, but my expectations for this movie aren't high. Though they aren't low either. I'm really pretty much neutral on the whole thing. I'll definitely see it, but I'm not in any rush.

I'm probably looking forward to this more than any other comic movie this year other than Sin City. I think it looks great and this version of the trailer looked even better than before. That's some awesome ninja action.

So...is this a sequel to Wolverine Origins and the X-Men films at the same time?

This trailer made me more excited for the movie. Before....wasnt so sure. But now, looks like it's worth seeing.

I think the idea is that if you live forever, you soon stop grasping on to things that are finite, and lose a fundamental aspect of being human. As little as we think about being "mortal", we do to an extent value periods of our lives, or bonds to other people, because we know they will come to an end. One of the strongest emotional reactions we have is to the notion that we won't get to experience a particular thing again, or at all. If you live forever, your experiences are all crushingly insignificant in the broader sense, and that's not necessarily something the human psyche - inherently prone to attachment - is capable of dealing with.

But I think it's an abstract philosophical subject that has turned into a pretty generic genre/storytelling trope - one that somehow has made it more difficult to relate to than it actually is. I feel similarly about the trope of "not turning into your parent". "You're not your father!" and so on. It permeates all fiction, and I can't even count the times where it just falls flat, when it's actually a deeply relateable theme. You don't need a super villain/vampire/monster mother or father to identify aspects of their personalities that you dislike, but share, and to an extent fight to overcome.

As for this movie, I think this trailer makes the problem more clear than previous trailers have. We just don't really know what it's about - what the actual meat of the story is. This trailer sets it up in a more linear way than the rest have, and you can kind of follow the thread to where it just abruptly ends, and they cue CG blob samurai and train fights. It makes it look like it's literally written as a set up where he's moping around, loses powers, and "then there's some fighting". That's hard for ANYONE to be excited about. Unless you just wanna see Wolverine stab things, which seemed to be the entire basis for Origins, basically.

X-men origins : wolverinr was so bad, I don't know what to think. I'm not really exicted about a movie where Wolverine is mortal and possibly boring. Fun, banter and guts would be good, but hey, who cares ?

Wait, didn't they show in X3 that there was a cure for mutants? He could just take that and be mortal right? But he seems under the impression in the trailer that his mutant powers were done to him by scientists. Maybe what happens is his healing us just slowed down, not stopped.

Looks good, however I do not feel like I need to go see this in the theaters. Waiting for the Blu-Ray of it instead. Only other movie I feel I should see is Man of Steel.

It was only a temporary cure. Remember at the end when Magneto was able to slightly move the metallic chess piece without touching it? It was a small part in a bad movie, so I could see one overlooking that scene.

I wonder if they are going to acknowledge the fact that it is going to hurt like hell when he uses his claws.

Why does everyone say The Last Stand was such a bad movie? I didn't think it was a great movie, but I didn't think it was as god awful as many seem to say. I don't want to jack this thread so if someone has a good link to another thread or review expressing the X3 critique I'd appreciate it. I understand the criticisms of Origins: Wolverine, which was a pretty poorly paced movie that had to many threads going on and some really poor representations of characters.

This movie looks like a fine Wolverine movie, but I'm really looking forward to Days of Future Past.

am i the only one getting a bit of an old-man-logan vibe from that trailor? he doesnt want to hurt anyone, his healing factor isnt what it used to be, he reluctantly decides to work along side an old ally...
