It feels like it's been a while since we've had a comic book movie in theaters. This is the time of year we have to wait. We're also waiting for more information on The Wolverine. After X-Men Origins: Wolverine, we're all pretty much insisting on some redemption.

While too much information hasn't been revealed aside from the time period the movie takes place, location and possible cameos, we are seeing the occasional new image surface.

The latest image is yet another featuring Hugh Jackman without a shirt. If you look that good, I guess you owe it to your fans to show off the goods, right? Question is, who is he about to go up against?

The Wolverine opens in theaters on July 26 and is directed by James Mangold.

I just re-read the 1980's Mini Series and if this movie sticks to that story it should be really cool.

This should be really good IF it's not cluttered up with TOO many characters!

That is what hurt "The Last Stand" and "X-Men Origins: Wolverine".

If this is a "stand alone" film focused on his character... it could be GREAT!

Good story, good action, and good acting... good recipe!

Is t just me or do the claws look a bit different? They look thinner to me. Better actually. More like they are in the comics.

I remember that in Origins that he was in absurdly good nick & he seems to have slipped a bit in this one. Perhaps that's because he's are more concerned about the quality of the movie this time as Origins (I think we can agree) was an absolute turkey. So it's probably a good thing?

He hasn't "slipped." Do you really think he would let that happen? He's being trained by bodybuilders, receiving his diet from nutritionists. His somewhat square shape is probably owed to his age (like you said), if anything. I'm sure if you used a skin-fold caliper, you would find his body fat is well under 10%. For more evidence, check out Scooby1961 on Youtube. He's 50 years old, has a strong workout regimen, and perfect nutrition. His body fat is close to 5%, but he still looks--relative to younger bodybuilders--fat. Again, it has to do with age.

Trust me, I'm a fitness freak.

@gotwillpower: I meant that in comparison to how he looked in Origins he wasn't quite as hench. Actually I did read a few articles at the time in film magazines that Jackman's training regimen for Origins was absolutely mental and it did show. I'm of the opinion that he's obviously done intense training for the role but not as intense as the last time round. That coupled with him just getting a bit older lead me to the conclusion that he wasn't going to be quite as chiseled this time. Frankly I could care less, I'd be more into a less glossy movie after Origins.
