    Wolverine

Character » Wolverine appears in 16085 issues.

A long-lived mutant with the rage of a beast and the soul of a Samurai, James "Logan" Howlett's once mysterious past is filled with blood, war, and betrayal. Possessing an accelerated healing factor, keenly enhanced senses, and bone claws in each hand (along with his skeleton) that are coated in adamantium; Wolverine is, without question, the ultimate weapon.

How did Logan lose his healing factor?

I haven't really been paying attention to the Marvel universe for a while but I've just started reading Death of Wolverine. I knew when I started that there would be stuff I wouldn't understand, but I managed to get the general idea of it, didn't feel like I missed any important information. I'm pretty curious as to how Logan came to be without his healing factor, though.

    Somebody fill me in please?

An intelligent Virus from the Microverse was infecting citizens taking control of them and shield agents as well, Wolverine was trying to stop them so they suppressed his healing factor and that is pretty much the gist of it.

@theamazingimmortalman: Hmm... sounds kind of underwhelming to be the thing that finally kills Wolverine (even if it's indirect)

@comicsrulebutdbzdoes2: He's definitely dying. Aside from the fact that there's a mini-series called Death of Wolverine running at the moment, Marvel have confirmed that the Savage Wolverine comic is going to end, and Wolverine and the X-Men is going to be replaced by Spider-Man and the X-Men. There's also going to be another mini-series called Death of Wolverine: The Logan Legacy which will show the effect of Logan's death on other characters.

So Wolverine is definitely dying. Obviously, just like Spider-Man, Captain America, Superman, Batman etc. he'll only be dead for about a year before he gets brought back. But he WILL die.
