I'm watching X-Men: Origins Wolverine right now, and he jumps out of the Weapon X facility into the lake below.

Wouldn't Wolverine with Adamantium on his bones not be able to swim?  He'd be like, 600-800 pounds...

there was an issue a few months ago, might have been a one shot where he talks about how he doesn't like being in the water because it's so hard for him to swim

the healing factor would be like taking steroids and human growth hormone every single day, his body would have adapted to the extra weight of the adamantium bonding in a few hours probably. I think he could do it but there would be no buoyancy helping him out.

Comic Wolverine is 5'3" and weighs 300lbs. so that would put Hugh Jackman wolverine at around 350lbs. because although he is taller he isn't as muscular.

Doesn't one's ability to swim depend on their density relative to their body size though?  So even if he is only that weight, it would be a LOT harder to swim than a 300 lb fat kid.

His healing factor would not let lactic acid build up in his muscles, so even though it my be harder for him to swim, he can keep going and going for hours, maybe days before he starts feeling tired.

Weapon X # 5 2009 (i think) he states that the only thing he fears is the ocean.
There was more to the monologue but i though this was the most important.

Yes, I'd say he Can. I have thought of the Adamantium, lightly covers his bones, He is 5 foot, if it were like wearing a suit of armor he'd really get tired, and worn out. He is not the termintor, but he also not real so...

    so Yes he can swim

Why not? His healing factor would compensate for extra weight, just like if you lived on a planet with more gravity you would be stronger. Also I wonder if a healing factor would help carry oxygen through the blood better, making it so he can hold his breath longer?
