Who would u say is Wolverine's best friend like some ppl like and alot hate him but does he even have a best friend?
Wolverine
Character » Wolverine appears in 16088 issues.
A long-lived mutant with the rage of a beast and the soul of a Samurai, James "Logan" Howlett's once mysterious past is filled with blood, war, and betrayal. Possessing an accelerated healing factor, keenly enhanced senses, and bone claws in each hand (along with his skeleton) that are coated in adamantium; Wolverine is, without question, the ultimate weapon.
Best Friend
" Personally I don't think he has a "best friend" but he is close with many characters and I'd say if he did have one it would be......Good one. Kurt and Logan were close, they had their differences, but as you read in Wolverine Weapon X #16, Kurt was a close friend to Wolverine in his heart.
"
Elf. They friendship was unique.
Or maybe Puck.
But they are both dead...
Maybe Kitty or Jubilee.
But they both have troubles now...
And my last contestant is Storm. They have a special friendship. Claremont forged a special bond between them. (There was a time, when Wolverine left his actual team to help her recovery.)
" @duntam: interesting i did not think of that maybe it should be "who is his best friend that is alive?" "
No. The question was good. But his best friends are dead (as most of his lovers), or are in trouble, or in Storm's case, she is married. Wolverine is a loner. Writers like to write him that way, so they tore his relationships apart.
Wolverine's character needs to be angry, but if he has a good life with a lot of good friends, then why should he be angry? Writers can't do much with a domesticated Wolverine (there are some, but most of them can't).
So what can they do? Tore his relationships apart. Kill or hurt badly someone in his life, and Wolverine is his same old self again: killer instinct and berserker mode on, and he goes on a vendetta. (Okay, there are other archetypical Wolverine stories: someone hurts him badly, someome manipulates him, or someone uses his body.)
For most of his writers, his character works better without deep social contacts. He was always an outsider and a loner, and they don't want to change that. I'm happy, that despite this, there are some writers, who are thinking otherwise. Claremont gave him Crawler, Storm, Kitty and Jubilee (and a family with Mariko, Amiko and Yukio). So he has or had a lot of good friends (all of the above and others), and he has good stories with them. The new writers are not able to give him new friendships, because they don't write him long enough to do so (and they often kill off they newly added characters).
" @duntam: i dont know much about them comic book wolverine but i think it would be funny is they address this and give him a character that annoys him and keeps trying to be his best friend lol "Jubilee was this kinda person in the beginning, but after a few years, she became one of his best and truest friends.
(And a lot of people annoys Wolverine. It's part of his character. Writers use this as a comic element in the comics. This plays central part for example in the Wolverine: First Class or in Astonishing Spidey/Wolvie.)
the hudsons were a one time his closest friends, but for years Wolverine's closest friends have been Nightcrawler and Storm whom i would put differently but equally
Wolverine's best friend, thought some of you may not want to believe this, is actually Sabretooth. Those guys are more than friends in fact. They're like brothers.
Nightcrawler is unambiguously his best friend.
Runner ups would be:
Kitty
Colossus
Storm
Jubilee
Rogue
James and Heather Hudson
This is an interesting question as there are many characters that would consider Wolverine to be their best friend, and I'd say in many cases he is pretty good friends with the people who would make that assertion, however let's consider what a best friend would be, many would say that is the person closest and dearest to you, some might say someone you consider an equal, or that they are the person that you can talk about anything with, or someone who accepts you for who you are, or the person that can read you like a book, someone that you greatly respect even when you disagree, or someone that you'd hesitate to ask too much of, but also would help in any way you could, I think these are all qualities of a best friend, but to be best friends this must go both ways, Wolverine rarely opens himself himself completely to others, parts of himself sure but he holds back, and to my mind over the years there is only one person who fits all criteria Jean Grey.
After all Jean was the first person to accept him when first he joined the X-men, for who and what he is, later he came back from the dead to save her from falling from a plane, when her marriage was falling apart she opened up to him about it, when she came back to life, the part that was Jean sought out Logan for help, and when Wolverine's body was possessed by Demons and he almost lost his mind the most protected memories were of Jean, which were also the ones that saved him, I could go on, but in my opinion they have over time developed one of the best friendships in comics, and certainly my favourite, this is one of the reasons why many people (myself included) want to see them end up together in a relationship...
