Professor X and the future X-Men, along with the reprogrammed Sentinel called Rover, try to uncover information on the event that destroyed the world from Master Mold's original detention center, after learning about what caused the explosion. However, the only way to get past the other Sentinel guards is to send Rover on a suicide run to provide a distraction. However, what will happen when Marrow refuses to let them kill one of their own?
