    Wolverine 181 = Chasers

First look: Looking at the cover you could be mistaken (if a first time reader of this volume of Wolverine comics) to think that this comic might be slightly boring and maybe not even be worth the read. But, for me at least, as I read on my mind changed.

The Positives: First thing, the beginning. I like how they started of this issue with a portrait of what seems to be of a fight just taken place, with a couple of guys dead and not surprisingly Wolverine alive having a shot of god knows what. Then soon after it goes back in time to 20 minutes previously and from then on the story begins. Although the comic does have a lot of writing (chit chat) I have to say that the conversation sounded, to me at least, quite interesting, who did what and so on(Mafias). With finally Wolverine getting involved and saying some stories of his own, one of them being what would happen next. (Wolverine style) It cuts to the end where you see Wolverine going down some steps and retrieving a little girl, with at the end (possibly the best part of the comic book) the little girl asking if Wolverine was Spider-man, in which Wolverine answers no and makes a smooth remark about Spider-man being a sissy.I Loved it.

Conclusion: Love how the artists depicted Wolverine, from comic book to comic book the depiction of Wolverine can vary quite a bit and that annoys me but I think the artist (Sean Chen I think) did a great job and for me depicted the real Wolverine. Also the way the story escalated in to the eventual moment which is portrayed at the beginning of the issue is great. Good progression from the previous issue and well done at keeping the story smooth and hard-hitting, a bit like Wolverine.

The Negatives: There's not many bad things to say about this. I, for one, would of preferred if the artists would of added some fight scenes instead of skipping the fight scene and fast forwarding to the present (within the storyline). If some of you do not like a comic book where there are long conversations then you should consider this as a negative as the writer Frank Tieri went quite generous in this issue in my opinion, not to say it's bad, depends on what you (the reader) likes; each to his own.

Overall: I found that this comic had some great art work, nice continuation from the previous comic and a very good and true depiction of what I feel Wolverine should be; smooth, tough, catchy, hard-hitting and etc. Although I will warn you guys, if you dislike a comic book which is more writing and less action - this is not for you, on the other hand the conversations that take place about Mafias and so on can come across as quite interesting. All in all a great comic with some fantastic art, good hard story line and a good ol' Wolverine catch phrase at the end. I must say I did enjoy it.
