From Hell and back...there was definitely better!

It takes a lot of energy from a person to come up with such a crazy story as Jason Aaron did in this 14 issues of Wolverine. I'll be honest (and my previous reviews don't let me lie), at first, when I read the first two arc stories, I wasn't happy about the outcome, the notion of Logan's soul going to Hell, then a demoniac possession in his body, going after his X-Men friends and the whole mysterious people behind this plot, plus the ridiculous five new enemies, all of that seemed to me like just a bunch of bad ideas blended together, nothing else. Well, I now publicly admit that I was completely wrong!! Jason Aaron did something with Wolverine here that every single writer tried to do to him before and never fully accomplished: Jason Aaron tortured Logan to the limit, he butchered his soul, grinded his heart and prived him of his revenge. He presented to us enemies beyond his reach, outside his grip, Logan is an intelligent and honorable man, bu he is better at killing, and what these people done to him, welcoming him to their twisted, diabolic plot, there wasn't anything Logan could have done to prevent it or to act accordingly, just watch as his ground disappeared into thin air. The way Aaron decided to unfold the mystery behind Logan's haters, the Red Right Hand, in the last 4 issues was better than most things I've read this past year, perhaps one of the best stories Aaron has writen, about revenge, pain, loss, shame, love, devotion, family, selfshiness and a whole bunch of feelings. The way he transmited those people's pain and loss was incredibly touching and realistic, I even hated Logan at sometimes. There wasn't a single mistake or flaw in his narrative. This takes energy, perhaps even a little of the writer's soul, but after reading this final arc story, I was convinced that Jason Aaron is definitely a sadist. No one has done to Logan what this man did in these past four issues and that from a character that has been throught a lot! After reading this final arc story I definitely understood everything that Aaron did in the first two arc stories, everyting connected and it was a perfect momento that the creative team lived and, as a result, delivered a fantastic story! The art was very good and consistent but this is a story of the words, it all focus in the words, the mean and cruel razor sharped words that Aaron stabs in the reader's backs. I wonder if Aaron went to bed every night saying "Suffer Wolverine, Burn and Suffer your Little Man", then a horrorific and bizarre laughter follows! I'm starting to grow a beard and wish that it resemble his! Highly recommended, an original story, fantastic reading!

Bloody? Bloody-Hell is more like it! 0

When I picked this up today I was optimistic. For a story that'd spanned over a dozen issues I was curious to see how everything came to a head, to an ultimate conclusion. I approached this issue with high expectations -- and I wasn't let down!  The Good  The opening is interesting, because it wasn't the way I thought things would turn out with the Red Right Hand. I liked the old guy's short speech,  and the interaction with the young boy who it's revealed that ol' Wolvie killed his mother. (it ...

Aaron & Guedes bring this arc to an emotional & dark end, 0

FINALLY! After being teased with the conclusion of Jason Aaron's ""Wolverine's Revenge" arc for a couple of issues, we finally get it in "Wolverine" # 14. I was growing tired of this series. The last few issues seemed to follow the exact same formula. Wolverine fights and defeats a lesser threat that we know has no chance against him and while he's fighting we get flashbacks that look into the past of a different member of The Red Right Hand and shows how Wolverine ruined their life. Here we ge...
