    The Witchblade is the offspring of the primal forces of the universe, The Darkness and The Angelus. It usually takes the form of a complex metal gauntlet. Since it is male in nature, it seeks out female hosts. The Witchblade is semi-organic and reacts supernaturally to threats. It is able to grant its host a variety of weapons and can also heal the wearer.

    Haven't read this series. Not a single issue...
    But after 4.5 i think it's worth reading :)
    So, my question is - from what number it's better to start? Therefore I will not buy all of 'em %)

    @timrothsays: That's a good question.  Top Cow did release a couple trades (at reasonable prices) from when Ron Marz started writing (back in issue #80).  That's when I started consistently reading again.  This is the first part of a new arc so you could always try jumping in.  Otherwise there's the First Born trade and Broken Trinity.  War of the Witchblades just ended so all of that's been resolved.

    I lost interest after War of the Witchblades. I did read every issue before that and really liked it. But War of the Witchblades was so predictable it wasn't even funny. I kinda hoped that Dani would be the sole bearer after the war. But no such luck...

    I have to read this issue when it comes out in Germany. I love the team of Sejic and Marz!!! The stories are great and the art is AWESOME ! But sadly it doesn`t come out in time in Germany. I`m even still waiting for War of Witchblades.

    I just started reading Witchblade last week from issue 100 or something and OMG it's really good. I haven't read this issue yet put probably tomorrow. The art is so pulling me in.

    I'd say a couple issues before War of the Witchblades....then again WB always seems accessible due to the first page giving you an outline of what's already happened.

    I'd recommend kicking off with Witchblade Volume 1 - 6 issues for only $4.99 at your local comic shop - if you are a trade reader. You can actually grab a free copy from our pals at Instocktrades.com right now.
    On the comic side, we try to make every issue a ground level read and every couple of issues "part 1" of a new arc. Issues #131, #132, and the reviewed #134 are all good jumping on points.

    I could never get into Witchblade, except for a couple issues here and there, the only time I really liked the character was in First Born. I'm a Darkness-man through and through.

    I miss the days of Michael Turner. Then Witchblade was good. The anime was retarded and could have been better drawn. Is a graphic novel of War of the Witchblades out yet I wouldnt mind reading the story.

    uhm g-man you kinda mistake with the hole  aprodite IV appearance in the darkness v3 issue 8,jackie lost his powers at that point since he was still recovering damage from the darkborn(actual name is the darkbaby,yet i always reffer to it as the darkborn) which created through his own darkness powers and so was manipulated into helping the sovereign.
