Plot Summary

Almost like CSI meets X-Files...but way better.

Overview

Romance blossoms this spring courtesy of Witchblade’s new long-term creative team of Ron Marz (First Born, Samurai: Heaven and Earth) and painter Stjepan Sejic (First Born, The Darkness) when Dani meets a handsome stranger who sweeps her off her feet. But Sara’s police instincts kick in and she suspects there is more to Dani’s new paramour than meets the eye. Featuring a beautiful variant cover by Luke Ross (Samurai: Heaven and Earth).

    Advent, Part 2 of 3

When I first started reading this issue it felt like I was watching the History Channel or something. We get about six pages going back to the Third Crusade and the quest for the Holy Grail. Why? It all becomes clear later.

I do have to say "goddamn!" when it comes to Stjepan Sejic's art. It's like, comic books aren't suppose to look this good. It's almost haunting in a way. It just adds a whole other feel to the comic. That's a good thing. You almost feel like you have to take the comic seriously. You're not just reading what they used to call a "funny book." Who called them that? Think that was before my time. But I digress...

The other thing I really liked about this issue is it didn't have a lot of Dani in it. Don't get me wrong. I like Dani. I think she's a great character. I think it's great that both she and Sara get a piece of the Witchblade. They're both good in their own ways and we're getting the best of both worlds having two Witchblade bearers. Buuut, this whole David Worthy storyline is just getting me annoyed with her. I'm sure I'm not the only one that has seen some shadiness with his first appearance. Worthy? Not really. As can be seen on the main cover of this issue, he's finally showing his true colors. As for the why and how he's able to have those "colors," that's bound to knock you on your ass. At least I didn't quite see it coming.

I do like seeing Sara in action on the force in her new Weird Crimes unit. Sejic makes a gruesome-looking crime scene. I like how we're getting a taste of what she has to do dealing with the on-going investigation. This serial killer will definitely be giving Sara some problems. That is if she survives this issue...

    A Very good issue

First i got this because of the cool B cover , not seen here.
Thinking it would be just another issue.I guess it was that time of the year.
Im not a witchblade fan by any stretch of the human imagination.
Anyway, it was a good issue that had me going.TopCow believes that this is their baby so theyre gonna take care of it.
