Preventing a World War
With more information on their hands plus Nick Fury's aid, James and Natasha have deducted that Lucia Von Bardas (Latveria's Prime Minister) is the one who woke up the Sleeper Agents. Bucky and Black Widow are sent to a mission that would prevent a world war.
Plus
Just when you think that the cover wouldn't be any better than the previous one, it does. Three awesome covers in a row definitely make collecting this series worth it. Artwork is still at a high level and the utilization of the unconventional layouts was a nice touch as it went well with the action that happened on this issue. The back-story on Lucia Von Bardas was great to see, showing that the creators are thinking of their new comic book readers. At this point, the way the creators put the action into paper for this series has now been established and it definitely set themselves apart from all the other series out there.
Minus
Readers who are looking for tons of action in the Dr. Doom versus Bucky and Black Widow fight might find themselves unsatisfied. Comic book covers sometimes set up expectations for readers and with a cover for this issue as great as it is, the action didn't make up for it. The outcome of the battle was a little easy to predict but it was perplexing that it was that one-sided.
The bigger picture is starting to get clearer but there weren't many answers in this issue. The only information that readers got was a story for Lucia, who might be familiar to some already, and there were too many puzzles thrown in this issue.
Final Score
The end point for this issue was a great cliffhanger and I can't wait to dive in to the next issue. Despite not having a fireworks show of superpowers between heroes and villians, the action for this series is well done for an espionage genre. 4/5 stars.
