Wildstorm Characters in DC Universe?

Posted by digimod (239 posts) - - Show Bio

We've seen it before and I assume that is can happen here.  The seed has been introduced in previous crossovers (DC/Wildstorm: Dreamwar).  Now that Wildstorm is gone it would be a shame to see some of these great characters disappear forever.  I know, DC Universe is already overpopulated with heroes, but then what's a few more going to hurt?

So... what Wildstorm heroes would you like to see introduced into the DC Universe?  Personally I would love to see Wetworks, Grifter, Savant and Midnighter to name a few.

WildStorm was already established as one of the 52 earths (50 to be exact), unless they retcon the whole 52 earths thing...they can't really bring WildStorm into DC

@aztek the lost: I realize that but I'm specifically talking about just some Wildstorm characters introduced into New Earth continuity.  Similar to Capt Marvel being in New Earth and Earth-5.  Not a merge of Earth-50 with New Earth.  These would be New Earth versions of the characters or characters displaced in the Multiverse.

Probably just a crossover. Milestone merged with DC, though.

Dreamwar already happened, it was being used as an example of the two universes meeting before

but isn't Apollo already an alternate Superman, Midnighter an alternate Batman, etc.

I'm just saying it doesn't make sense how they'd be in the DCU unless say Earth-50 was destroyed and a few characters became refugees but I think it'd be better if there was just some stories that took place in Earth-50 (but then again, if that were happen, ending the WildStorm imprint was kind of pointless)

You have a point there with Apollo and Midnighter - but other Wildstorm characters are more original - like Wetworks and Grifter.

And all I'm syaing is they've done it with other heroes - where we have the original still on the alternate earth and also a New Earth version.

you might claim that the DCU is overpopulated......but that is not really true since for the last decades there has been many dead heroes and to be honest the DCU needs more, It would be cool for them to gain W.I.L.DCATS, Gen13, wetworks among others so yeah, lets hope an event starts where the wildstorm joins DC

I think they'll keep them in Earth 50.

Good points all, The Authority is better than anything DC currently publishes.

Maybe with the whole reboot of DC this would be a good time to get the WS universe involved.

It appears that Grifter will be seeing life in the DC verse.  IF they are bringing him over you can only assume that other staples of the WildStorm Universe will also see life.  I would think that Caitlin could come back over as well and join the Titans... its not like she has not shown up before and thought she was Supergirl.  And we know that Majestic would cause waves (again) as another 'Super' hitter on the scene (and could be a decent replacement if DC looses total control fo Superman).

Priscilla Kitaen has just found out she’s a monster. A half-alien hybrid, the woman known as Voodoo must confront the secrets of her past to make sense of the nightmare her life has suddenly become. VOODOO #1 will be written by Ron Marz with art by Sami Basri.

So far this is what we've got.  There was also talk of a Grifter #1 coming out but official solicit hasn't been posted yet.  I'm just glad to see some of these characters again!  :D

I don't know much about Wildstorm at all, so I'm kind of excited about this. It's like new characters for me.

Voodoo is a good choice, hope it works out.  Grifter was always an obvious choice to me - I wonder if he will butt heads with Batman Inc :)

I would also like to see Savant, Engineer (although she would diminish Cyborg as a character), Jack Hawksmoor, Midnighter, Jenny Sparks/Quantum and the entire Wetworks team.

Wildstorm characters do have their own book post-FP. Haven't you seen the Teen Titans #1 cover?

I kid, I kid. I hope we get an Authority book, though a Grifter book (as the rumours say) would be cool too.

I think it's pretty official now, even J'onn has joined Stormwatch.

Gen 13 meets Teen Titans: In River Dale high. 90's teen drama has never been pushed 2 the xtreme.

Gen13 was like the first book that I got from the very first issue and have the entire series...I love the characters and I really don't want the to disappear into limbo....I think it would have been cool to add one or two of the character into the Teen Titans relaunch team but I understand why they didn't....another cool thing they could do is introduce Gen13 as a rival team to the Teen Titans....I just really want Gen13 in the relaunch universe

@danhimself: funny - gen13 was one of the 90s comics that pulled me back in after 15 years of dormancy.  I remember paying way more than worth for all 13 variant cvrs of #1

I have all those covers to....my favorite was the Janet Jackson parody cover...although that was because of my heightened teenage hormones

@danhimself: I look at like this. The fact that they are doing the three titles means the door is open for the rest of the WSU characters. Nothing saying they can't introduce more people and more titles down the road. So keep the hope going.... I'm still hoping to see all of the Team 7 crew.

did you read the Lois Lane Flashpoint series where Grifter talked about the Flashpoint Universe's Team 7?

@danhimself: I haven't. What did he say?

@danhimself@IrishX: Now the icing on the cake would be for Abnett to actually write a Team 7 series.

And then there is my other Wildstorm team that I drool to see brought back - Wetworks

@danhimself: Wow, where do you people get all these scans. I like the fact that John Stewart's in there, though I don't like Kate Kane in there.

@danhimself: That is awesome and I am now thinking I really should get that series. Cool to see people like Lady Blackhawk fighting alongside Grifter.

@digimod: Wetworks was a good series. My friend is a big fan of that series and Whilce Portacio's and I'm going to attempt to get his sig on an issue of Wetworks #1 for him down at NYCC in October. Dane, Backlash, my guy Deathblow and all the others.... can only make DC better.

I would start with the original WildC.A.T.s (Zealot, Grifter, Void, Voodoo, Spartan, Warblade, Lord Emp, and Maul) along with their villain, Helspont, as well as members of the original Gen13 (Sarah Rainmaker, Freefall, Burnout, Caitlin Fairchild, Grunge, John Lynch, and Anna).

DC adding Majestic into the new 52 on a regular basis would make me buy more DC.

#30 Posted by Alpha (7331 posts) - - Show Bio

I'm curious and hoping if any other Wildstorm characters get introduced to the new DCU? I would lovwe to see Gen 13 come onto the scene. And how about Spartan, Zealot and my fav Backlash? I hope these great characters don't get lost in limbo.
