Issue - Slave Ship of Space! EDIT
March 01, 1961February 1961

In the third issue of their own magazine, the Justice League of America are confronted by Kanjar Ro - an evil dictator from a distant planet who wants to use them as weapons against his adversaries. The cover of this issue shows Flash, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, Aquaman and Jonn Jonzz captives of Kanjar Ro, rowing his "Slave Ship of Space." These 5 heroes always appeared on the cover of the very early JLA adventures as it was DC editorial policy at the time to downplay the roles of Superman and Batman in the team. Editor Julius Schwartz believed the World's Finest duo had enough exposure elsewhere in the DC line and restricted them to cameo appearances in this title, and that is once again the case in this issue.

After freezing the entire planet, Kanjar Ro enslaves the Justice League and forces them to defeat his enemies. Worse, the League's only means of escape may be to ally themselves with criminals.
