    No Holds Barred

This is a great example of a parody magazine. The first story is an in-your-face anti-DC story that shines brilliantly. What happens when the good guys in the DC Universe start exhibiting horrible character flaws (for the sake of being interesting)? Their bad guys, who don't seem so bad anymore, head to Marvel, where good guys are still good and bad guys can exploit them. The art is fantastic; something I didn't really expect from an over-the-top type of story that this was.

The second story was also great. It was a spoof on the Punisher's origins. I know nothing about the Punisher. I do know that this didn't matter, as the story was still really funny. Not only was it slap-sticky funny, but some of the jokes were quite intelligent, both written and visual. These simple steps made this story stand out, but also stand up to the first story.

Story three was okay, the big laugh coming at the expense of superhero hair. That one laugh was worth the story.

The fourth story was epic. First, DC gets knocked again as Man Thing and Swamp Thing go at it. Better, that girl in the story is smokin' for a swamp tale. The narrative is so overboard and verbose that you can't help but laugh at the pains the writer had to go through to make it so... so... existential? Hilarity.

The ads were also great, which makes this parody book near flawless. That third story with Thor could have been slightly better, though.
