WHAT IF #10 What If Jane Foster Found The Hammer Of Thor *****

    Turning Point :

Don Blake decided to bring Jane Foster along with him. When he fell off a ledge, instead of going into the cave where Mjolner was, he sent Jane, and she finds the Hammer of Thor.

    OVER ALL :

I have to admit, I really loved this issue. They took a fair amount of time explaining who Jane Foster was, before she got the hammer, and developed her as a full and strong character afterwards. Even gave her enough of a different personality.

This made for a much stronger story. There was some silliness, such as the Wasp laughing at Giant Man because the most powerful member of the JLA was a girl. However, if you have read a lot of silver age marvel, you will see there was a fair amount of what we would call sexism.

Even though it is heavy on character, it did not skimp on action, making it possibly the best of the What If books, in this earlier run of 48. I can see it making the top 10, but we will see.
