    Origin

Created in the laboratories at Essex Airbase, the Water was an experimental super-weapon designed based on Professor Ramsey Norton's Chemo project. It was able to escape containment, and travelled to nearby Salvation Valley.

    Creation

The Water was created by Grant Morrison and Doug Mahnke. It made its first appearance in Seven Soldiers: Frankenstein #3. It is based on Chemo, and also draws from the discredited work of Masaru Emoto on the emotional reactivity of water.

    Major Story Arcs

    Seven Soldiers of Victory

During its escape, the Water "bleeds" some of its chemicals into the water supply of Salvation Valley, poisoning the humans and animals that reside there. This drives all living beings mad, many of them violently so. In Salvation Valley it confronts Frankenstein and Lady Frankenstein, and attempts to poison the former, who is immune to its effects. Frankenstein shoots it in the face, destroying its containment suit and apparently killing it.

    Powers and Abilities

The Water is a semi-sentient being made of water, contained within a thin plastic shell in the shape of a human being. Its water is poisonous, and drives those who drink it insane; this effect is contagious, and spreads quickly if not contained. Its water is also carcinogenic. It can projectile this water through its mouth. It is also very large and quite strong.
