    Weird Tales of the Future was one of a number of pre-code comics that mixed science fiction with horror. Released in the fall of 1952 by S.P.M. Publications Inc., issue number 3 featured the story 'Nightmare World' by Basil Wolverton. In it a man ventures "into the mysterious realm of the subconscious" via the use of a chemical concoction he's made.
