    Weapon X is a program started by Weapon Plus. Their job is to create super soldiers for the government. Many have gone through the Weapon X program, including Deadpool & Wolverine.

    Wolverine is indeed Weapon X. The X doesn't stand for the letter X. It's roman numeral for 10. Wolverine is Weapon 10... the tenth experiment by Department K/Weapon Plus.
     
    I'm not sure what number Deadpool is... if he is a number at all... considering he is a failed experiment.

    Deadpool is not a number. He was a part of the project but only one member gets "weapon whatever".

    I preferred it when it was all basedon alphabetical letters (ala Alpha Flight, Department H, Weapon X, etc).
