See and Hear the Graphic Novel
Most people have already read Watchmen. Many more have been buying the graphic novel each day (as sales have increased since the trailer was released). There is another way to experience the book. You can purchase these "motion comics" from iTunes. There's music and voice acting. It's a pretty sweet production.
So far two chapters have been released. Check out the preview and maybe go for the season pass. There's also other ways besides iTunes:
The second chapter in the Motion Comics series debuted on iTunes and Amazon Video on Demand. The second chapter is set against The Comedian's funeral where Silk Spectre recalls her horrific assault at the hands of The Comedian and while Nite Owl and Doctor Manhattan recount their own experiences that reveal The Comedian to have been a larger-than-life enigma: a hero and a villain in one costume.
The second chapter of the Watchmen Motion Comic is also going to be available on Xbox Live and the Sony PlayStation Store over the next several days. In addition customers of Verizon Wireless who have V Cast and Sprint customers with Sprint TV access can view abbreviated versions of the Motion Comics on their respective services.
Every two weeks a new chapter will debut on these providers. Chapter 3 will debut the week of October 20.

I'm not really sure what to make of this. It looks cheesey. Now given that the image is supposed to have taken place in the 1940s, maybe it's supposed to look cheesey. I also think the "modern" images that have been released are a little iffy. I suppose I have faith that Zack Snyder will do a good job. Honestly though, I'm finding myself having difficulty getting overly excited for this. I didn't read Watchmen when it first came out. I read it later in trade format. All I had heard was how great it was. That it was the story to define the genre. I read it. It was good. It didn't knock my socks off or anything. Maybe I had heard too much hype before? Kudos to Aintitcoolnews for getting a hold of the image.
So what are your opinions based on this image and the other ones?

Nite Owl
Four figures will be shown at the New York Comic-Con this weekend. They're coming out in January for $14.99.
EW had the first look at these: www.ew.com/ew/article/0,,20191746,00.html
So who do you think the other two should be? What other Watchmen products would you like to see?

I have to say I'm really nervous about this. I just have no idea how it will be. Should I just hope for the best? Some of these images (from director Zack Snyder's website rss.warnerbros.com/watchmen/ ) look good but some...I think I'll have to see in action to see how it actually translates.
What do the hardcore Watchmen fan have to say?

Back on May 22, Watchmen rumors were announced: www.comicvine.com/watchmen/40393/news/&newsId=138
Looks like director Zack Snyder has sort of confirmed them.
The red-hot director, intent on using his newfound Hollywood clout to stay true to Alan Moore's refreshingly dark comic classic, also offered a promising non-denial regarding rumors that names like Jude Law, Keanu Reeves and Patrick Wilson had been offered roles. "Um — you know what? I would say 'No,' but then you'd call me later and go like, 'Dude, what are you doing?' " Snyder laughed. "I don't know who's leaking this stuff, but they're good."
"[We'll be shooting] up in Canada, starting in September," Snyder said of the film, which Hollywood has been trying to get off the ground for a decade and a half, under directors ranging from Terry Gilliam to Paul Greengrass. "[We'll be shooting] real soon."
The whole article, including the possibility of a 300 sequel, can be read here: www.mtv.com/movies/news/articles/1561936/20070607/story.jhtml

Watchmen
AICN had some information on possible casting for the Watchmen movie.
Right now, there are offers out to three people to join the cast. If the studio’s gotten to the point where they’re officially making an offer, you can expect that these people will most likely make it into the film.
So that means we’ll see The Prom King, Patrick Wilson, suit up as Night Owl. I think he’s a great choice for Dan, and all you need to do is look at the work he did in LITTLE CHILDREN as an example of the sort of quiet sadness he’ll bring to the role.
Dr. Manhattan is a tricky part, and there’s something alien and otherworldly about him. Keanu Reeves always seems to me to be on a different wavelength than anyone else on the planet, so when he steps into the part as the big blue superbeing, it might be a nice fit.
And in the biggest “duh” of the year, Jude Law has been offered the role of Adrien Veidt, aka Ozymandias. Perfect choice, and Law’s been saying for years that he is a huge fan of the material. If anyone out there is more right for the role, I don’t know who it is.

So who's going to play Rorschach?
