We all have trade paperback (TPB) collections we'd like to see. Here's one of mine:

Proposed Title:What If? Possibilities.
Alternate Title:What If?.
Collecting 13 Issues:

TPB Cover: What If (1989) #34

This TPB is the catchall for the What If issues I couldn't fit into other TPB's. For some reason, the Shang-Chi issue was skipped in the What If? Classic volumes, so there might be some sort of contractual issue with that. I don't know for sure. What If? (1977) #17 is there for the Captain Marvel story, #30 is for the Inhumans story, and #36 for the Nova story. For the cover, my pick would be What If? (1989) #34, for The Watcher in the Marilyn Monroe pose. I think the '89 #14 cover of Captain Marvel would be the more dynamic cover though, drawing the eyes of more buyers.

Since this TPB doesn't focus on any one character or event, the alternate title of just What If? would be a good way for Marvel to keep that title in copyright. No point in giving up a great title like that.

Update 11/8/12: I added the two 2011 one-shots, What If? Dark Reign and What If? #200 (the Siege issue). This brings the total issue count to 13 for the TPB. However, two of the issues are only in there for part of the issue's contents, so really, the count is 11 and change, which isn't a bad size..

Would you buy it? Let me know in the comments, and thanks for reading.
