razzatazz's Warlord of Mars: Dejah Thoris #17 review

    On the wings of dragons

In comparison to the overall series the concept here is really quite ludicrous, but it doesn't really matter as the story is the second best after the second story arc.  Dejah is kidnapped by a group of vampires from the moon of Saturn called Titan.  The reason for abducting her is that they want information as they plan to invade Mars.  Dejah of course refuses to cooperate but the creepy many vampire (and his creepiness is not because he is a vampire but rather because he is creepy in the other sense) refuses to let her.  This leads to one of the most unconventional chase scenes that I have seen with the two of them atop some kind of dragons with the vampires chasing in flying cars.  It sounds campy and the plot of a 1960s science fiction story (and it really basically is) but where it lacks in logic it makes up for in fun.  it should be noted though for those that enjoy such things in reading comics that the interior artwork is just not as good as it was previously with horrible faces and out of perspective everything.
