Wars Over. But Things Just Got Heavy

    Story:
The Green Lantern War is over. Lanterns lay dead and even worse a Guardian of the Universe has been killed by a Green Lantern. It is now time for the Corps to assess the situation, tend to their wounded and attempt to rebuild all that they have lost. Emotions are everywhere and the Guardians are the ones who are affected by this disaster more than anyone. But a plot is brewing that not even the Guardians are aware of..and a Lantern must make a decision that might plunge the Corps into even deeper chaos.

    The Bueno:
This is the type of aftermath that I was waiting to read. Lanterns showing intense emotion, others wanting to quit and some get right in the Guardians face because they are tired of dealing with mistakes they have caused. Also the Guardians seem to be freaking out like never before. In this issue you will be able to see the the emotionsl state of each of the main lanterns including Kyle, John, Hal, Soranik Natu, Kilowog, Ganthet, Salaak, a few of the Lost Lanterns as well as see how some of the new lanterns feel about their current situation. I was expecting to see DC trying to tie this all up and have things go almost right back to normal but things are very far from getting on their right road. When a Lantern almost gets jumped on OA..you know things are bad. The story did not seem rushed and I am very excited to see how this will all turn out in the last issue of Aftermath.

    The Malo:
I really liked this issue and appreciated how each of the emotional states of the Lanterns were represented but one thing stuck out in my mind that I was looking for that some might have forgotten....Where....is....Sodam Yat? He and Zardor have been completely forgotten. I would have liked for them to have even mentioned these two individuals. Maybe they are planning to keep Sodam under mind control when the DCNU hits..but who knows..but that's kind of the problem. The art wasn't the best...at times it was painful too look at how some were drawn.

    Verdict:
This was a  good issue. Things are changing on OA and even when the Corps gets back on track nothing will go back to the way it was. I definitely recommend this but if you haven't read the WOTGL fully wait till you have so you can fully appreciate all that is happening in this issue. I know some people like to jump ahead but this is one story that you want to read from beginning to end.

Score: 4/5 (I was really expecting to see some mentioning of Sodam Yat and Zardor...here's hoping they appear in the next issue =) )

    Take care.

Better than normal post-event book. 0

Many people weren't that impressed with "War of the Green Lanterns". I really enjoyed it probably because I read it after collecting all of the issues therefore I wasn't annoyed by the delays and out of order release dates that turned off some readers. Reading it all together was a satisfying experience which made grabbing "War of the Green Lanterns: Aftermath" #1 a no-brainer. The series ended with a rather startling event that is going to lead right into DC's upcoming relaunch. The Green Lant...

      Better than I thought 0

I quite enjoyed War of the Green Lanterns, but wasn't particularly looking forward to this tie in. I deided to pick it up primarily due to obligations to have seven titles pulled at my comic shop and it was replacing Green Lantern. I'm pretty glad I did now.  The story is primarily a character piece as the Corps recovers from the War. It shines here. The corps are portrayed as explicitly suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Syndrome. Hundreds of Green Lanterns attempt to quit, including the new ...
