The first flight of the phantom eagle!
I read this series quite a while ago and i really enjoyed it, i'm not too fond of Howard Chaykin's art, but Ennis' Scripture it's totally worth your while, even if you're not a "World War" Enthusiast, this book isn't about heroic deeds during the war but about how horrible and cruel was is. Karl Kaufmann is an idealist, a man who puts a white cloth over his helmet to get recognition from his enemies and allies but soon he will realize that war isn't as "plain" As he imagined, he starts experiencing the horror and sadness of the war as the "hun" Start fraggin' his comrades (there are some nice kills btw). And as the story goes by we get to see a more "mature" Kaufmann when it comes to warfare... And so, the Phantom Eagle, the legendary pilot of the first Great War mankind has ever seen spreads his wings of hope on a conflict that leads to desperation and chaos. Be sure to try this series out, i'm pretty sure that the paperback's out there, so it's a safe buy, believe me.
