War Heroes 1 Titled "The Long War" Takes us to a What If? Earth where John McCain is the president of the United States, and because of his infamous statement "i'll promise americans one hundred more years in the gulf" US money reserves are nearly depleted and the country is deeply scarred because of the terrorism and riots... Then, as extreme times require extreme measures, the government approves Project Olympus: Which allows Us Soldiers to gain superpowers for an hour period, by swallowing pills that give super-speed, super-strength and other kind of meta-human powers... As the project goes by, a group of regular folks (one of them is crippled by the way) Decide to enlist in the army with the sole purpose of gain super-powers, not to serve or protect homeland... What for? What are they up to?
There were no major action sequences in this first issue, but i'm sure as hell that Millar is saving some mass-destruction issues out there... I was looking forward to read some military-based books, and this one meets my expectations.
That's a question that will be Answered by Mark Millar and tony Harris as this comic book charges its way into comic book shops
