If they had made it so that Wally West was still the same ginger kid we all know him as and the new black kid was his half brother wouldn't you have all been 100% accepting of that? I think it would have actually been great to see Wally just been a civilian supporting character in Flash books for a long time while his brother was Flash until DC wanted to make Wally Flash again. The current execution just feels too much like real character death for me to accept, and it gives this new 'Wally' way too much stigma for me to care about him.

Yes, everyone has said it wouldn't have been an issue if DC made a new character who was black instead of race changing characters they have specifically said they are going out of their way to make unimportant.
