Vikyn grew up on New Genesis with his friends; Beautiful Dreamer, Big Bear, Mark Moonrider and Serifan. Together this quartet became known as the Forever People.

When Darkseid, master of the planet Apokolips, kidnapped Beautiful Dreamer and took her to Earth in an attempt to discover the Anti-life equation which would enable him to control all sentient beings in the universe, Vykin and the other Forever People came to Earth to rescue her without first obtaining the consent of New Genesis' leader, HighFather.

The four male Forever People summoned the mysterious Infinity Man and, confronted by the Infinity Man and Superman, Darkseid was forced to release Beautiful Dreamer.

The 5 Forever People then decided to remain on Earth for a time to learn about the planet and to combat Darkseid's future plans there, although again without HighFather's permission.

The Forever People found two Earthmen who possessed the Anti-Life Equation, and it was their interference that prevented Darkseid from gaining possession of it. One of the men was sent into the past by Darkseid's Omega Effect; the other was accidentally killed by ine of his own guards.

At one point, Darkseid imprisoned the Infinity Man behind a strange barrier inan unknown area of space, apparently in another dimension. Infinity Man made the beautiful planet Adon his base in that realm.

At last Darkseid sent one of his deadliest assassins - Devilance the Pursuer-after the Forever People. To save themselves, the Forever People used their Mother Box to exchange places with Infinity Man. Devilance and Infinity Man both appeared to be destroyed in the ensuing battle, leaving the Forever People stranded in Adon. Fascinated by this planet of beauty, the Forever People set off in exploration of their new world.
