"G'bandit said:I'm sorry, but that is the lightest of the the bright. Lighting will not change anything here. lol"<------------Is totally confused @_@First it was this picture, not white btw, just different lighting.
There was a white Vixen picture? Or just some other woman?

"she has always been black. I do not know what is up with this thread? Also you made a duplicate thread just like this one too."10 times out of 10, when two threads are made within .01 second of eachother, it is by accident. Also, I posted the scan that made me make this thread to begin with.
"she has always been black. I do not know what is up with this thread? Also you made a duplicate thread just like this one too."The guy thought there was an error and just pointed out that Vixen looked white but it was the lighting effect of the background in the pic that made her skin lighten up a bit :)
O_O? I got it right, right Precise? :P
"G'bandit said:Oh, ok.. Well at least at that moment before the dude disagreed I got it right :P"O_O? I got it right, right Precise? :P"Ehm... well that's what i thought, but Mage disagreed so.... never mind, picture is changed, it's good now! :p
But there is a request thread for changing main pictures btw.

About six months ago people discovered that Vixen’s skin tone had been lightened in Justice League. The cockup was picked up in a few places, and the natural reaction of many superhero fans is to call the problem a “coloring error.”
Her lips, her cheeks, her eyes all tend towards the European. Seems someone forgot to tell the penciller the memo that this character is supposed to be black...

"there was actually a time when for some reason, Vixen was drawn as caucasion for quite a few issues.... a lot of people pulled DC up on it, and it even made Newsarama's blogs...Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That means they screwed up times 8. What is seriously so difficult about drawing black/African characters with their natural features, let alone their skin tone.

Maybe Ed Benes dosen't find the facial features of Black women attractive. I think it's obvious, especially if he's been doing it consistently.
I'm with White Mage and Pix. Just coloring their skin to match that of their race isn't enough. They gotta ... [more]
I completely disagree. There's no 'correct way' to draw black women. Not all black people look alike.
Even though Alek Wek and Iman are both African, they look nothing alike. Alek is Sudanese and Iman is Somali. Vixen looks like a Somalian woman. More people would probably agree that Wek looks more like a black woman than Iman just because her lips are fuller and her nose is wider, but that is pure ignorance.
Other black women that are African (and not "African American").

Ubah Hassan (Somali)
Liya Kebede (Ethiopian)

" Black female celebrities are doing this too. "Why do you think that is? I mean everyone here is right, it is an issue. It bothers me as soon as I see a lot of these characters. Don't even get me started on Asian characters - not even Asian artists like Jim Lee can draw them!

It's just the common thing of fitting in, except it's turned to race. Lighter skin is portrayed as the epitome of beauty. Who do you see representing everything?
