Vixen carries a magical Tantu totem that augments her animal mimicking abilities. She has been a JLA member, a model and successful business woman. Edit
Origin
Fighting Crime
Vixen then applies for for full-time League membership, and is accepted. The Tantu Totem is then again stolen by Maksai who intends to use the Totem's power for evil. But the Totem only gives the user power only if they are using it for the good of mankind. Maksai was then transformed into a raging Ox. He then dies in battle by Vixen. After this incident to League members were killed and JLA disbands, leaving Vixen teaming up with Animal Man once again to stop a mysterious force.
Suicide Squad
Vixen then returns to modeling by doing a photo shoot, but the set gets crazy when Vixen's colleagues are murdered by drug smugglers. Vixen puts the matters of the issue in Suicide Squad's hands. She then goes undercover to capture a drug smuggler named Cujo who was caught on tape of her colleagues murder. She loses control and kills Cujo and his team. Upset by the fact that her animal instincts got the better of her she decided to stay with the Suicide Squad until she could fully
control them. A year later the team disbanded and Mari once again returned to modeling, and also debuts her own clothing line.
Infinite Crisis
Vixen rejoins the Justice League and helps fight Shadow Thief, which resulted in another League member dying. Vixen then later adopts a new uniform similar to that she wore during the animated series; Justice League Unlimited.
One Year Later
Vixen then Battles Solomon Grundy, but in the mist of it all Solomon was able to retain the Totem and used its power to increase Amazo's mimicking abilities. Vixen's connection to the morphogenetic field begans to go haywire and she begins to fall apart. Vixen then links mimics a young boys abilities and is able to link her mind with her Totem. Vixen then flies to New York and retrieves her Totem, and after a gritty battle with Grundy, Vixen becomes a charter member of JLA.
JLA
Vixen powers began to go through changes, no longer mimicking animal abilities but the abilities and powers of metahumans, mainly her Justice League teammates draining them of there powers. She goes to see Bronze Tiger to discuss the matter of her powers, she then later on informs the League of her power problems. And Black Canary orders her to be removed but then comes to terms and decides to seek Zatanna's help on the matter.
Characteristics
Height: 5'7"Weight:140 lbs
Eyes: Brown
Hair: Brown
Powers
Vixen possesses the Tantu Totem, which magically enhances or helps Vixen control her innate animal mimicking ability. In the past, Vixen has mimicked the telepathic and physical abilities of Gorilla Grodd, the flight of a hawk, the swimming ability of a dolphin, the speed of a cheetah, the echo-location of a bat, the wall-crawling of a spider, the jumps of a cricket, the constriction of an anaconda, the strength of a bull elephant (12 tons), the senses of a wolf, the agility of a monkey, the debilitating shock of an electric eel, the regenerative abilities of earthworms, and the ability to spit venom like a spitting cobra. She has even been shown to be able to channel the powers of extinct animals, such as the saber-toothed tiger, domestic animals like the Doberman pincher and even human. She has on occasions drawn pure energy from the morphogenetic field and displayed this energy as a force field and energy claws.
Recent adventures have caused a shift in Vixen’s animal mimicking abilities, to the point that she is no longer able to mimic the abilities of animal. She can now only temporarily endow herself with the powers or weapons of other superhuman beings within her immediate vicinity. Vixen has used her power to successfully mimic the null-gravity ability of Geo-Force, the superhuman speed of Jay Garrick, the electro-magnetic powers of Black Lightning, the alien powers of Superman and the energy of Green Lantern’s ring.
It is unknown if there is a time limit on how long Vixen can retain the abilities of other super humans or if there is a limit on how many abilities she can mimic. There does seems to be a limit on how far Vixen can reach for super human abilities, as she was unable to switch Black Lightning abilities for those of Superman. It should be noted, that without the totem, Vixen’s natural scanning range is about 150 feet.
Exactly what part the Tantu Totem plays in Vixen’s mimicking abilities is now unknown.
