thanosrules's Villains for Hire #3 - Headshots review

    Dirty Deeds

    Recommended!

The ongoing villain on villain violence continues. There is no mention of Paladin's fate in this issue, but then again, there are far too many other things going on. Caught in the cross-hairs, Misty finds herself on the defensive - but does this mean she is not in control? It appears she has her act together, but even her strong calculating mind and bionic arm are no match for all these villains. It is no wonder the "highest bidder" argument didn't come up before now, but as this is the third of four issues, everything is starting to shake out.

While Misty suffers a great loss, she keeps smiling... knowing that she nor Purple Man were ever in control and thus ending the issue on a cliffhanger sure to be hastily wrapped up in the next, and final issue.

I realize I may sound unenthusiastic about this issue, but there are a lot of good aspects: the action, the art, the twists and turns, even some of the dialog is quite entertaining - I am just concerned that the next and last issue will lack what it takes to complete this series on a high note... only time will tell!

AF Reviews: ThunderboltsHeadshots by writers Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning and artist Renato Arlem continues their Heroes for Hire book with the titular Heroes for Hire now mostly being a pack of mercenaries and villains in Villains for Hire.I'm mostly picking up this book because it has/had potential to touch upon the same ideas, themes and golddust as one of my favorite books Thunderbolts. We even get a few ex-Thunderbolts cast members in this book like Paladin, Scourge, Shocker, and Speed Demon...
