nice review

Don't worry everyone the next issue of X-Force will remind us all why we are still reading this story.
Edited by cmaprice

Should have been 6 issues.

It's like it's half-filler. Kyle, Yost & Fraction should have gotten together and come up with a cohesive plot. If Marvel was forcing them to have a longer issue-count, I wish they would have found a way to make each chapter stand out and really develop these characters. When you have a long story where the protagonists are trapped and secluded, it gives a great setting to explore the psychology of this group. I mean, with waves of Nimrods coming in, make us feel that sense that we could really be watching the mutants get picked off once and for all (despite previews for the future books already telling us this will not have a Wild Bunch ending.)

Messiah Complex had much more "happen" in 5 issues. This arc is a real let down.

I haven't read this issue, but as far as how Second Coming's progression has been so far, not much has happened since Teleporters were taken off the battle field.
I agree that hype is somehow lowered now. Plus all I can say about the story so far that excites me is know what will happen after this.
At first I thought this story 'event' was going to be about Hope and the X-Men reuniting, but that happened in chapter 6 (I think) so I see no point of this story other than the fact that it's a huge battle.
Although I hope that the ending is satisfactory for the 14 Chapters that are of this story...

It seems like X-Force is the way to go!  I really want to see how this ends...

I do like Wolverine's X-Force uniform. I believe it was an optional costume in the Wolverine Origins game.

The way the battles move here reminds me of what I wrote about last year. US comics focus so much on the fighting, but when you have major battles. They are over in a flash. You hardly get to see anything.
If this as more of a manga style. You would get to see a lot more battle details. I just find it funny that Japanese manga do fight scenes better then many US comics.

My heart sank when I heard Greg Land.

Paige showed up in New Mutants #14, fighting Nimrods in the tunnel with Boom Boom, Sunspot, and Avalanche.

I really liked this issues dialoge.......... the art is another thing completely.
 I knew Magneto couldn''t be trusted.  Wait, I thought Magneto meant that
Mutants were meant to inherit  the earth.

Question: why does everyone hate Wolverine's Yellow and Blue costume?

I know this off topic, but it was mentioned in this review.

Don't wanna burst your bubble folks but X-Force is getting pushed back a week, seems Choi and Oback had some technical difficulties(via their twitter) so we'll be getting X-Force in July :(

I know you guys love David Finch and I know Land is vastly inferior but Finch does give men 16-packs and ALL his women look like little girls.

I agree. Second Coming doesn´t have that long lasting effect of emotion and effect.

It seems like the X-Force issues are the only excellent issues of Second Coming.  Do you like the New Mutants issues more or the X-Men LEgacy issues

The High Evolutionary took a piece of the The Dreaming Celestial's brain (I think. It might have simply been a piece of Celestial tech or something along those lines), and used it to power a machine that gave Magneto his powers back. The machine was destroyed in the process.

I loved the Storm line! Reminded me of the old-school Storm from X-Men: The Animated Series. lol

@Korg: Why not?

@ChaosAgent: Matter of taste...

Well, I personally don't care for it. I was just wondering what you liked about it. Not a trick question or anything, I just don't run across many people who like his work.

@Korg: His style is very simple, the panels are not overloaded and everything is very clear. Furthermore, I think he can draw really pretty women ;)

All I need to say is MIKE CHOI + SONIA OBACK: next week in X-Force. <3

For an "event series" spread out over so many issues, it does feel like a LOT MORE should have happened. If I were to take a guess, it's only been, what? Two or three days, since Hope re-appeared and X-Force was sent to the future? Less than that? That's what it feels like to me anyway.

Greg Land. ::sigh::

How much longer do I have to put up with his inconsistency and awful [mis-]use of photo reference on X-books?  I really want to know, so I can circle that day on my calender in red marker and surround it with smiley-face stickers.

speaking of manga style -- i missed Joe Madureira's manga-inspired pencils during his Uncanny X-Men years...  i wonder if it has been a decade now
