I would've loved to see Deadpool speak at the funeral.  I believe he might've actually been sincere in his speech, or as close to sincere as someone like him can possibly be.

This issue looks really good. I cant wait to see more of psylocke

I agree that the change in writer and artist was a bit jarring but it didn't really bother me too badly. I thought each story was pretty solid, particularly the conversation between Logan and Storm. While I enjoyed the bombshells that G-Man mentioned, I kind of feel like it took too long over the course of Second Coming to get those revelations. Overall though, I'm pretty happy with Second Coming and it definitely left me wanting to see where the X-Men go from here.

What? What? Wait no Babs, how sad, I can't wait to read it now, btw were there more pages or was it the same number of pages as a regular comic?

Posted by sora_thekey

I haven't read this comic... but with two bombshells on here... I want to read it even more!

It was good, dude.

I prefer the single reviews.

Poor Storm.....................the only picture she has of Nightcrawler is done by Greg Land

@Michael the Fly: Time is short and there's a lot of comics to review. We actually split up and filmed reviews separately yesterday. Stay tuned for them.

I will, btw how many pages did this issue have (normal quantity) or more?
Posted by Aspenite

I want to read it but I´ll have to wait because my shop gets no comics until they pay their bills :(

@Michael the Fly:  It was an oversized issue. Don't remeber the exact number off the top of my head.

This set up an interesting new time ofr the X-men. I really made me want to keep on reading, but yeah...Could someone get Greg Land off the X-books? That X-23 was horrible. I wonder who he  traced for her.

Thanks, it would have been strange to be a regular issue.

oh wow i never thought the last bombshell would have been like thought but i guess if i was that person id be scared to .....

The only way I could hate the the new X-Force lineup is if it included the Sentry or Speedball.

@doordoor123:  It's 5. The next arc on Uncanny is the 5 lights.

Thanks for noticing that Greg Land's X-23 could have been any brunette woman. She just doesn't look like that. Similarly, whoever drew Prodigy drew him with those ridiculous goggles. I hate those

I was sad Deadpool didn't get to say anything at the funeral....i would have wanted to see him get some kinda respect from some of the X-men for helping save Hope too.....But maybe we'll get into that when X-force starts.

Overall this was a very good issue tho =p

also lol yeah i didn't know who Wolverine was talking to till he said Laura.....Guess X-23 grew up ten years since last issue.

I think I can guess who dies in second coming no.2. It's kinda obvious who it is.
YEAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE GREG LAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HE IS MY FAVOURITE ARTIST!!!!!!!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! By the way, i was being sarcastic. :P

G-Man video review? Talk about a flashback.

My opinions mirror yours on this. I thought Second Coming was a bit longer than it needed to be, but overall it was good.

@lostlantern13: I almost filmed in the back back dark room. I thought it was too soon and too similar to my old "lair."

I didn't mind the writing in the first 2 chapters.  The third was obviously Fraction, even though I hadn't read the creator credits before I read the issue.

This was such a wet fart of an ending.  The day is saved, Magneto wants to adopt & mould Hope in his own image, and Hope inexplicably sparks up the Phoenix Force for no reason to spark a new surge in mutants?  Lame.

This was let down by three things:  Greg Land, Terry Dodson & Matt Fraction.  All the way through this cross-over, they have been the biggest drawbacks.  They have been the elements we've had to force ourselves to get through.  Although X-Force was such a high standard of story-telling, these three creators pulled the rest of the cross-over down to below mediocre.  And what's worse, they were given the responsibility to handle the finale.  The big ending of the Messiah Trilogy was nothing but a disappointing & brief anti-climax.

Why is Deadpool in X-Force? He's not a mutant. Where's Warpath, Domino, Vanisher, and Elixir?

Not a requirement.

Warpath, Domino, and Elixir are out. Vanisher is dead.

This issue was okay, I did like the conversation between Wolverine and Storm, and Logan and Laura.  The latter really showed what Logan thought of Laura and I was pretty happy with that.

I hope you guys don't stop the duel unscripted reviews, I like the conversation...ness

great to see babs off of the review, she's been a total downer lately.
where is G-Man, a wine cellar?
what's with the Greg Land hate? the man can draw some great panels. Dodson is the weak link in the X art team

Cool review, G-man! I'm definitely gonna pick this one up.

Yes, the sound was pretty bad, which is a shame because it seems like a really cool location.  And what's up with the 'Price is Right' music? Ick.

Really diggin the solo review though! Harkens back to the good 'ol days. And if temporarily splitting up like this means more reviews, i'm all for it!!

Personally, as far as the first bang goes:

As far as the second bang is concerned:

I thought that the art throughout the entire issue was good, but yeah, the shifts in art was a bit jarring.  Overall, the moods were all captured very well.  I think the funeral was alright, but in comparison to Nighty's, it was weak overall.  However:

The Beast/Namor thing was interesting, but the Wolverine/Storm stuff took the cake in this issue for me.  It was interesting to see that little tete-a-tete between them, then have that reveal of the new X-Force (and yeah, G-Man...I agree about the lack of hips on Psylocke...but it also showed Archangel with wings?).

It was a decent issue and an alright way to close out Second Coming, but I was kind of hoping for a bigger bang than what I expected...which is kind of what happened with the first bang.

  Greg Land is a tracer.

cant read any of the spoilers :p

Picked up the first second coming and floowed what story i could though Uncanny which i pick up anyway. Got this out of curiosity and i enjoyed it, and the surprises at the end.

On another note, loved this single review. I like the double unscripted ones but it was a nice change to see the old format back in action. Good stuff G-man.

Is no one else wondering why everyone was in mission gear at a funeral? >.<

Posted by the_nightwalker
@Korg: damn, so everything is a trace? Or is that a rumor that has no credibility?
If its anything like that vid, then no he's not a tracer he's an inker
that was a poor exhibit for the prosecution.
If he is actually tracing, how is that even permissible with so many other talented artist dying to work marvel?
Posted by G-Man
@PuckPuck: Maybe it's respect thing like when soldiers or police officers wear their uniforms at a service.

Land himself has said that he uses photo reference from Google image search. It is very evident when looking at his work that he traces models, and even other comic artwork regularly. He has reused the same models on more than one occasion, and sometimes recycles old images he's drawn/traced, as seen below:

The video was mostly for humor purposes. Greg Land does pencils, not inks.

This is the million dollar question.

I guess that's disrespect for Sentry then? :P At least Rogue didn't come out and say she slept with him. >.>

I must say I find it a bit weird to see Deadpool on the same team with Wolverine, taking orders even from Wolverine. Won't they be like, I don't know, trying to kill each other? I mean, Deadpool.. Taking orders from Wolverine.. Am I the only one that finds this a bit odd?

Hmm. Anyway; I dropped X-Force a few months ago to follow Avengers. Looks like I might have to pick it up again. Oh my wallet will feel this.
