Carnage is awesome, welcome back.

"Doesn't need the money."? Do you have any idea how hard it can be to find clothes to fit a six armed lifestyle? You can't get that off the rack. That has to be tailor maid, and that will cost a pretty penny. More so if you have to buy every shirt like that. lol

You would of thought that a city filled with crazy symbiotes would make the national news. Everything those Jersey Shore idiots do seems to make it on.

The art does look really good. The Return of Carnage could of been a great Halloween title, but it strikes me as crazy that you wouldn't have Carnage on the cover of the first Carnage comic. When do you never see a titular character not on the cover of their first issue? Wasn't is last year around this time they started Franken Castle
I can understand why it would take bi-monthly for that art quality, but from a publishing standpoint. It doesn't sound good. You really risk having readers lose interest. I don't think I would really be interested in a book that comes out once every two months. Though, I guess that would depend on how long they expect this series to be. I'd rather wait till it's all over and get it in trade-paperback. I do that with a lot of comic series.

I agree with G-Man here. When I first saw Clayton Crain's art style I was a little put off by it. The more I see, the more I like it.

@longbowhunter: I really dig his art style!
Then, I'm usually put off by classic mainstream comic style (see any X-men book)
I like original visuals and such~

Clayton Crain's art just grows on you. I loved this issue and am dropping Chaos War for this series.

i actually kinda hate crain, and i didnt know how i felt about a girl carnage (at least thats what theyre saying)

BUT
i bought this because i love carnage. and i did really enjoy it. and crains art was actually kinda awesome. who woulda thunk. and i did like the maximum carnage references a lot, especially the last character.

and obviously tony might know about maxcarnage but its probably just for readers who didnt read comics in the 90s or trades, you know.

oh and i stinkin HATE bi-monthly comics. that means 10 months of this for only 5 issues! whew. whatever its worth it...?

Is there any pics of the new Carnage?

Great review. I'm really looking forward to this series (yay Doppelganger!). And I got to say, those fruit loops looked yummy. Thanks Clayton Crain!

Posted by Lustwish

I read it, enjoyed it!  Can't wait to see what is next in store, but I have a few ideas of what may become and what has become of not only Carnage, but others that had been around him during Maximum Carnage.  I will do more research and will get back to you.

Art is kick ass and the story is a good kickstart to the mini.

Venom vs Carnage, how it always should have been.

I love when older, completely forgotten characters come back and surprise everyone.

Awesome review Tony!
May actually check this out or then again, just wait until it comes on trade.
But still, looks interesting. They have to bring back Kasady. They just have to. It would be a sin if they don't.

I was curious about this series, but ultimately decided not to pick it up (3.99?  Ouch).  However, this review is making me want to maybe take a look.  I wish Carnage was on the regular cover, though.

Not a huge Marvel guy but I've always liked Spider-Man, Carnage, Venom and Wolverine. Iron Man is growing on me so I think I'll pick this up besides my normal DC pick ups.

Personally, I like the bi monthly..I live not close near comic shops near me, so I'd to say I'm a fan of this and hope DC does this bi-monthly too, even if it's once a month and not every week like most comics. IMO that's too fast.

Yeah, his work is awesome. Have you seen his Ghost Rider run?

Okay, really, I loved this book. As for the part where Spider-man has to inform Iron Man, I would have thought that Iron Man's suit would have pulled up a record in the 'system database' or something like that. Aside from that, it was great. I just hope that when the new Carnage appears, she does NOT become an anti-hero. Imo, that would be such a waste. (We had a character trying to control their crazy other half before, yknow. Toxin.)

@Bruce Vain: I prefer Venom to Carnage, and even I can't help but rock out at that song.

@InnerVenom123:
Same here - I love Carnage , but I was always a Venom guy.

Yea I love how Green Jelly did the music to this badass game. Gotta love some Green Jelly :D

That would make me KILL Zeb Wells... In the most brutal way possible.

If I killed Wells? Well... sucks to be you. If you mean if Carnage owuld be an Anti-Hero... then GOOD!

@MKF30: Most comics DO come out once a month. What comics do you read that come out every week
Posted by sora_thekey

I read this today...
Since I didn't read maximum Carnage I can't really give this a 4.5 out of 5 like you Tony...
I would probably go down to 3.5 out of 5.

On the Spidey explaining Maximum Carnage to Stark note: It's not because Iron Man didn't know about it, it's because this way it doesn't look like Spider-Man is breaking the 4th wall! xD

I think that it was good to retell that part of Maximum Carnage.  Some people probably didnt follow it, nor did they follow carnage at that time, or are possibly new readers.  Don't forget, you must touch base with certain events to give others true or real meaning..

Carnage being an Anti-Hero is full of suck.

You do not know the story yet all you got was basically the credits that tried to explain a bit of maximum carnage and the intro. We have no Idea yet where this is going, so not understanding how you can judge the story with only 20% of the content.

i cant wait till i can drive so i can drive to a comic book shop to get this

I thought it was kinda weak, not even having Carnage on the cover or even appearing in the issue was very strange.

@Manarg:
I know that a writer who isn't experienced with writing Carnage and only writing a limited series of Venom's origin didn't do a good job supporting his story with this first issue, even if its only 20% of the story, it sadly leaves fans explaining the stoyrline instead of the writer and the comic.
I personally hated this anticipated storyline when im seeing a Tomax and Xomat ripoffs attack Iron Man and Spiderman ( who was just standing there like idiots by the way ) for no reasonable cause besides being cocky assclowns aching for an asskicking.

But as Marvel anticipated, art looks awesome, slap Carnages name on the cover, 3.99, and comic sale are bound to sky rocket thanks to idiots like me being suckered for another cheap comeback of another awesome villain or character.

@ReverseNegative:  Yeah! Both the Johnny Blaze miniseries and the one taking place in the past, in hardcovers both^^
I love his style! It looks just amazing and really stands out amongst mainstream comics :D
