I want to see what's happening with Osiris!
Posted by mrrpm01

nice review I hope that the hawks' saga comes full circle in brightest day and deadman or liveman or whatever the heck we call Boston finds a permanent  place in the DC universe and they stop maning a joke of aquaman.  Also I thought that I was the one of the minority that is starting to like firestorm again, I take my hat off to whats going on with the characters

Great review guys.
David Finch belongs at marvel.

I picked this up earlier today, but I didn't get time to sit down and read it.  Probably check it out tomorrow and post up a review.  I'm definitely interested to see what the Firestorm stuff has going on, especially since you seem to FINALLY be getting into it, G-Man!!!  IT'S ABOUT TIME!!!  lol

Read Titans: Villains For Hire.  He's on Deathstroke's Titans team.

Also, for those who are wondering about Maxwell Lord, you'll be wanting to read Justice League: Generation Lost.

I hate how segregated this event feels.

you should pickup titans then because that series is following him and other characters

I'm completely with G-Man on the dog issue.

Why would their old bones still have feathered wings still attached? Wouldn't those have decayed with the rest of the organic tissue?

I would never sneak to the last page of a book. I don't do it with a book and I wont do it with a comic.

Posted by jakob187
@FoxxFireArt: I personally have no problem with doing it.  Actually, I usually find that I enjoy the tone of knowing the ending before I read or see something because it changes the tone entirely for whatever you are partaking in.  I was told the ending of The Sixth Sense before I ever saw it, and the experience I had watching it...when I describe it to other people...is not the same kind of experience that they've had with the film.

To be honest, I blame Memento for it.

However, I haven't skipped to the end of a comic in a while.

@jakob187:
I don't get that... I assummed that Brightest Day would deal with the ressurected 12... this means I have to buy another comic title... the only reason why I will is bacause its Osiris!
Thanks for the info thou... jakob187

I'm having trouble getting into it because of Not Kendra flapping around as Hawkgirl.

@jakob187:
I kind of understand. I watched the first Fullmetal Alchemist series and was rather disappointed in the finale. With this new remake that supposedly follows the original manga more closely. I haven't watched a single episode, and I don't really plan to. I don't want to become emotionally invested in the series all over again just to be disappointed once more.

I would never do that with a book. It ruins the whole purpose of reading for me.

I havn't been following DC so maybe I am not a great judge at this... but I am meh about it all. The only real interesting story is Deadman, the rest don't seem that special. Martian Manhunter would be next but we kind of know what will happen. Just sort of happening but nothing is happening in this issue. Possibly because they are doing multiple stories instead of just one. Art was solid but for whatever reason, doesn't fit with DC other than the Aquaman stuff.

like the white lantern idea

Just finished reading this.  I think Babs rated it too high.  I didn't enjoy this issue, except for the Firestorm stuff...and I only mildly enjoyed that.

@FoxxFireArt: I forgot to point out that I also had the ending to Red Dead Redemption spoiled for me.  It's interesting to see how people felt about the game without knowing the ending, as their experience was completely different than mine.  There's was a state of shock and "WTF"ness.  Knowing what I knew, I felt like the whole game was a Western-styled ballad.  That same feeling wouldn't exist without knowing the ending.

For me, the biggest problem with Brightest day is that it's just taking too long for anything to actually happen. The pace is too slow when it comes to everyone's stories except the Hawks' which has been all-out action all along. We still don't have answers to much of what's been happening to anyone, and the parts with Deadman are just becoming annoying to me.

I hope that in the next issue everyone's "adventures" pick up speed,

Personally, I'm liking Generation Lost  a whole lot more that BD so far....!

@G-Man: G-man Mera is looking left-down, it means she's in her inner dialogue.

The rest of her face seems to be showing either sadness or guilt, they are hard to tell each other apart. I would go with guilt. I don't think she's feeling sad to be back with him, I think it makes more sense she's feeling guilty about something she did and he doesn't know or guilty about some hidden agenda for something she's plotting.

Anyway look at the explanation of her eye movement expression:

Down and To the Right
Indicates: Internal Dialog (Ai)
This is the direction of someone eyes as they "talk to themselves".

Good issue, loved the Firestorm stuff and of course Deadman (I've always loved him). Everyone who hasn't should read Deadman: Dead Again. Anyways it was good, 4/5. It left me wanting more can't wait till #4!!

I didn't like him at Mavel at first.  Im not crazy about his faces.  The more you see his work the better he gets.  His work is actually a whole hell of a lot better in black and white.

even tho this a mini-series about the returning 12, I have a feeling that more of the characters that were killed in BN will be brought back.  Im interested to see what they do with Damage.  There has to be a story behind that.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

As a DC fan (which obviously G-man and Babs are not...still love 'em though!) one would know, after reading Blackest Night: Wonder Woman, that Mera did something behind Aquaman's back she's not proud of (which is why she was so full of rage!). Perhaps little Aqua-baby WASN'T Arthur's son... Which would definitely coincide with the look on her face  in this issue, as she hugs Aquaman, yet looks down in a sad, regretful way. A face with guilt written all over it.

I'm hoping this is true. I've always considered that giving Aquaman a son and then kill him off, was a BAD idea!

This issue was surprisingly good. Coming from low expectations, it is sort of reminiscent to 52 .    : )

Aquaman > Namor. The better of the douche bags.

There. I've said it.

@Aquamariner: That made me sad. I love DC, I'm sorry I couldn't relay that to you, however. :(

Wow.... really? Because I didn't follow Blackest Night and I haven't been reading Brightest Day either... did I really read a guilty inner dialogue out of a comic page through means of body language? Wow the artist must be, really, really damn good!

@Babs: You love DC? YAY now i love U even more!!!

Oh, and I totally agree with you on the whole dog thing. I think the Martian Manhunter is THE most compassionate hero in the DCU  (maybe next to Wonder Woman) so it makes sense that he'd feel sorry for the little pup and therefore call him "boy"...I just love a hero who likes animals (which is why i like Aquaman too)!

@Aquamariner: Yeah, I love DC! I'm surprised you thought I didn't considering my screename is "Babs" after Barbara Gordon. :)

The Martian is one of my favorite characters! I love everything about his character. :) He's fantastic and I hope he is here to stay.

Great review... great points... I like the emphasis on the "not going to the last page"!
I always say that...

Ageed certain people just look better drawing different characters for different brands.

@Comiclove5: 100% agreed! Finch just sucks at doing DC characters, and for some reason his rendering of Marvel heroes is so much better.

i enjoyed this issue i just want to see more of Martian Manhunter and Deadman, btw if u seen the cover for the next Brightest Day Issue then u know who is the voice in Firestorm's head. It doest make sense but its gonna be awesome!

major arcs like these suffer from what i call "lost"-itis. Where they continually pose more questions than give answers. 3 issues, multiple questions, NO answers. Id like one answer before the final issue because this is interesting, but exhausting.

i think this issue was good, im super exited was happnes next woo
