Read the very first Ultimate Xmen story by Millar, and read the first 3 volumes of Ultimates also by Millar.  You'll see why it was as successful as it was.

I need to read this! Not want, NEED!

This looks awesonme, Rafa Sandoval does a great job in art.... except that in a preview, I saw that spider-woman was shooting webs from her wrist and not her fingers...

Bendis has the best ideas... but I figure that like Osborn he will one day crack!... with all the books he writes...

I mean he writes 3 on-going titles, and 3 mini series... all at the same time!

Maybe Ben needs to start using some sort of finish since he's pealing....or chipping as it were.

The Ultimate Universe has always had it's own charm. Seeing their twist on events.

Man, didn't Reed's father use to be this strong moustache guy ?
Plus, Reed had only this one little daughter called Enid.
Really, Bendis screwed up with the Richards family, don't ya think ?

@Surrender Monkey:
yea he screwed up. In the first issue of ultimate fantastic four it was 11 years in the past. Enid was the same age then as she is now. thats weird.

The only thing I liked about the story was Spider-Woman, Reed, and Fury, everything else didn't really make me like the book, the part with the Thing was just odd in my opinion, but hey, it was different from mainstream Marvel, so that's good. Still hope this "Enemy" isn;t just some purple blob though.

I thought the Ultimate Universe's "Ultimate Enemy" was Jeph Loeb?

I've read Ultimate Spider-Man, X-Men and Fantastic Four and some of the Avengers stuff and I really enjoy the Ultimate Universe. This new 'wave' seems pretty interesting so far (this issue was a good first issue and really got me wanting more!), the UC Spidey stuff is still good, and I picked up Ultimate X (which has a variant edition btw) today which was also a good first issue.

I sometime feel like the Ultimate Universe is aimed at a younger audience, but as long as I'm enjoying it I don't see why I would stop buying the stuff (and it's pretty much the only Marvel stuff I pick up... beside Amazing Spidey and the occasional Deadpool). Overall this was a great issue (I agree that the whole emo part with Thing was a bit too long but I guess they were just trying to put things in context for the future of the series) and I'll definitely be picking up the other ones.

Anything Loeb Touches consider him his ultiamte enemy...
After Super/Batman I dont even need to read anything and I´m going to know that he is going to overpopulate the comics with something, you dont know what , but something gonna be in excess...
