The TV-Y7-FV rating forbids the use of the Swastika symbol.  Additionally, the symbol would be changed for the inevitable toys which could cause licensing issues (you want to clearly define what rights you're licensing not just "characters plus adjustments"... otherwise they can repaint Cap, Iron Man, etc. and get US Agent, War Machine, etc. toys for free off the same licensing fee).

The opening theme is... not my taste... but the Spectacular Spider-Man theme eventually grew on me so maybe this one will too in time.  The lyrics:

Our World's about to break
Tormenting and Upset
Lost from when we wake
With no way to go back
I'm Standing on my own
But now I'm not alone (Avengers Assemble)
Always we can fight as one,
Till the battle's won
with evil on the run
we never come undone
Assembled we are strong
Forever fight as one
Assembled we are strong
Forever fight as one

I finally got to see this tonight at a friend's house with Disney XD and a DVR, but I'll need to watch it again beyond the micro-episode repackaging to make a final determination.  The brief first impressions is that the storytelling and continuity references are strong, the voice casting is good, the dialog middling, the animation and art better than I feared but not as good as I might have hoped, some weak direction in places (example: Graviton flying up in one shot looks like Graviton growing ala Giant Man), the score works but needs stronger character themes, the fight choreography and rationality needs a lot of work IMHO.

Relating specifically to choreography / rationality / groundedness: dropping a big chuck of Manhattan without real consequences; Graviton's shields arbitrarily deciding what to block and when; Graviton never using his space-launch attack again; Graviton's inexplicable twister at the end; Graviton taking unshielded hits from Hulk and Thor... but feeling an ant bite; Graviton feeling a tanker hit but not a hit from "Catching Lower Manhattan"-Thor; etc... ending with a massive, unexplained, ne'er-to-be-used-again blast felt like DBZ or Power Rangers with respect to size, disregard for collateral, and arbitrariness.

On the animation front it's clear they're still learning and it ought to get better over time, similarly as the story picks up and the characters grow familiar the dialog will be less clumsy and expository.  The continuity nods will be rewarding for long time fans and adults but otherwise this does not seem to be a show made with adult appeal as a priority or substantial consideration.  It doesn't mean it isn't fun but the show is more Ninja Turtles (2003) than Gargoyles (1994), Avatar:TLA (2005), or Batman:TAS (1992).  Nowhere near as bad as, say, The Zeta Project but not quite as internally consistent with powers, design, storytelling, and world-building as Batman Beyond.

On the art design, my biggest problem is trying to find the house style.  In Spectacular Spider-Man, even if you didn't like the "everyone has cataracts and square fingertips" look, you could easily distinguish the nuances, rhyme, and reason of the style.  I was challenged by Sean Galloway's designs... didn't necessarily love them at first, but instantly recognized his style and came to like it.  With Avengers, it's much harder for me to "find the line"... if we asked a handful of artists to do the Bruce Timm version of Sentry or the Sean Galloway version of Superman you'd get fairly consistent results across the board.  If asked to the AEMH / Tom Perkins' version of Green Arrow, I suspect you'd get results all over the map.  This might be a familiarity thing too.

Bottom line: Best Avengers to date, good story and nods, merely above OK as a cartoon now, need to see more.

The micro episodes were decent enough (The cap one was the best) but the two part Breakout was freakin awesome, this could turn out to be a pretty epic show if it lasts.

P.S.   the op song is the sh*t too!! Sang it all day at work yesterday.  I might be just hyped but the only song on par with it is 94 Fantastic Four (very 80"s Nickolodeon)

For a second I was like, Batman? oh wait Black Panther haha. Looks not bad for a Marvel cartoon, not since the 94 Spiderman series and 90's X-men have I had interest in a Marvel cartoon.

show.......is......100%.....F*CKING AWESOOOOOOOOOOOME!!!!!!!!  WOW!!  Completely blown away by the first 2 eps.  The action is great for an American cartoon.  The characterizations are pretty on point (except for Tony Stark acting more in tune with his movie persona rather than comic counter).  I was happily surprised at the actual Hulk persona they picked because they usually always use savage stupid Hulk.  Only thing I hope they continue in the future is multi episode story arcs like 90's X men used to do

The premiere was great; they did a great job of giving equal time to all characters and I must say, Graviton's portrayal was pretty cool

I thought that too.  Otherwise, I liked the show.  I have given up on any of Marvel's projects EVER matching the 616 continuity so that make it easier to to watch the show and not point out all the flaws.

Dammit i forgot it was on >.> Though i'm sure they'll have reruns of it :]

And why does Black Panther even have to be in it though? I'd rather see other better characters than him.

I'm worried now about watching this if it will be good. My bro told me about a few of the micro episodes and told me they made the Hulk like Superman in every show he's been in. This means he's a lot weaker than he is suppose to be because they can somehow write shows for comic characters in comics for hundreds if not thousands of issues but then limit them in any tv series or movies.

I'm talking about being taken down by two of the other heroes who quite frankly would have a more difficult time with Professor Hulk (Who is the weakest version of Hulk) then how they did it in the micro episode. lol

P.S: I also noticed in the description of the Avengers under the vid it didn't mention Hulk as a member but instead She-Hulk. Wasn't he a member a long time ago? I have not followed the Avengers for a long time and don't know for sure.

So who saw it?

It just finished where I'm at and I gotta say... This has the potential to go farther than any of the other Marvel animated stuff. This is one of the best things Marvel's done on the small screen in a long time. I totally recommend it.

At first I was worried that maybe not everyone would get enough screen time, but I'm pleased to say that this was not the case. Everyone had a role and they were portrayed well.

If there's anything holding this show back it's the fact that it's on Disney XD. I know this is all supposed to be Disney's show, but it'd get many more viewers if it were on ABC or ABC Family or something like that. But if you have Disney XD, you gotta watch this.

I theorize that she's in fact a triple agent, faking her betrayal to SHIELD when she's in fact working undercover for them. Either that, or she's Madame Hydra in disguise.

That's more or less part of my doubt, Black Panther is an iconic Avenger, but today there are quite a number of characters they could use. The presence of Rhodey in the Iron Man shorts made possible for a War Machine appearence in the future (I hope at least).

This is one of the things that bothered me. Ok the Iron Man's movies established the blaxploitation Fury as the new standard, but in a show which should be closer to regular MU there is a bit of a problem. During WW2, the Howling Commandos were a special unit banding together soldiers from the  U.S. Rangers and the British Commandos, as much as Nick could be a good soldier, I don't think that in those days the Allied HQ would ever gave command of such a unit to a black man.
Given that this Fury seem to be closer to the Earth 616 Fury, aside from the look.

I was thinking same thing but then again its basically the same silly Super Hero Squad Show roster. Seriously why is Hulk there? How is he being controlled?
the first thing I ever learned about the Avengers is that Hulk was 1 time member bcuz his rage is uncontrollable.

Also comment was meant to poke fun at how Marvel always cancel their shows right b4 it gets interesting. the animation looks good though it may be long lasting but we will see...

On Sunday the 24th on Disney XD they are playing the micro episodes in their proper order as actual episodes (4 micro = 1 full episode), the premiere episodes Breakout part 1 and 2 (tonight) are actually episodes 6 & 7 so the 20 micro episodes make up the actual episodes 1-5. You can see the chart for the proper order of the episodes on wikipedia.

Aside from th fact that I would have to wait until someone updates the episode on the net, I have pretty mixed feelings about this. It doesn't look bad and the micro-episodes were quite interesting, but the details are bothering me. It might turned out great or be a major flop.

Still hate Disney for not renewing Spectacular Spider-Man, though. That was a superb show. Not just for a superhero cartoon but overall, damn fine television.

but that honestly doesn't look very good.  None of the voices sound right at all.  Hulk was really bad in that one line....

I'm up to the introduction of Captain America.  I had a feeling that when they introduced these clips on the internet, 8 minutes or not, I'd have to watch them all before the show started.  Like reading back issues.
