I do not see why people are so stunned by the sex Talia did kiss Jason years ago in Winick's own Batman Annual when he was first resurrected. Also it is Judd Winick this was the guy who threw in sex in Green Arrow years ago and made some continuity errors making it seem like Green Arrow cheated on Black Canary. HE has used sex for drama before and it is almost a characteristic of his.

There's been some bad continuity in the Bat Books recently either the artist knew and ignored or never read the arc or just wanted him to line up with the character in under the Hood. I had a personal theory combining all the material is that he had black hair when he died so the Pit brought him back and used the black hair as it was in his body.

@daredevil21134: It was a little homage to that reddish blonde hair in the Pre Crisis DCU.

Jason is a great character because he comes across as being very human. I also feel his beef with batman is a legitimate beef

Posted by daredevil21134

very interesting

I think you're just jealous of Talia for hogging Jason to herself XD
All kidding aside, it seems like that's the only real complaint all across the board about this issue. Hardly anyone seems to be able to understand why Winick stuck that scene in there so out of the blue.
Other than that this was a great issue and a great miniseries. I agree wholeheartedly with your review, nicely done.

I got a question Sara. I picked up the first three issues, i thought it was a good book, but the 3rd issue really bored me. Now, Im not the biggest Jason Todd fan, but I dont hate him either. Actually, I dont know much other then basic background stuff. Ive been interested by this last issue of the series. Would you recommend to go back and pick up the last three issues or not

its good man

MILFing goes both ways I guess.. Na is more like Talia is a cougar RAAAWR! xD

Cougar Urban dictionary definition: A older chick or women thats hot, sexy and older then you
that chick must be about 26-27yrs old. Im 19 and shes a couger

The whole "love" thing going on between Talia and Jason was out of character for Talia, she's not the kind to just lust after any man or just give herself to any man...er or boy in this case.  That just cheapened her character making her out to be some kind of cougar.  Besides that the miniseries was great, it filled in a lot of blanks and reintroduced us to Jason Todd who is a much more interesting character now as the new Red Hood.

To be fair, Jason Todd's not 'just any boy.' I don't think it really 'cheapened her character' too much, but I do agree it made very little sense.

yeah is no ordinary man

Posted by nightwing91

It's so out of character for her, I mean has she even showed an interest in another man besides Bruce. I mean she calls him beloved, and then has sex with his adopted son?  It just seemed out of place, it's out of character for her, but for Jason he would as a way just to get back at Bruce. He better hope Damian never finds out.

This could lead in a future great Jason Todd on-going series!

Who's with me?!? Anyone??

Great review,as for the intimate scene it was just revenge sex for both talia and jason. they were both pissed at bruce and thats why they did it.
Posted by The Mighty Monarch
@Jor-el Zod: Holy shit.... THAT'S IT! You're the first person I've seen who's rationalized it. That makes perfect sense! I still think it's a bit off, but actually now I can see the point of that. Nicely done!

Been saying that since #2. I'd love to see that.

Much better than whatever the hell Morrison did with Jason in Batman & Robin, those issues seriously struck a cord with me

May be just a repeat post from the other topic, but I just want to share my thoughts on this to others, and I see they're shared. :D

The sex scene is not that shocking and quite explainable, and it also shows one thing: Judd Winick actually reads other writers' work and tries to get along with their storylines, unlike some other people (COUGHMORRISONCOUGH).
Talia says that her father is dead and that Batman is to blame, ergo, this happens right after Batman: Death and the Maidens, where 1.Talia was brainwashed by Nissa who killed/resurrected her over and over and over; 2.Talia plainly states that Bruce is no longer her beloved and that it's both her and her sister's enemy.

It may appear sick to some because of the father/son/father's lover relationship between Bats, Talia and Jason, but it's understandable and perfectly explainable, alias Talia wants Jason to hit Batman where it hurts and pushes him in the right direction, using all the edges she knows she has over a then 18/19 years old boy who has been depending on her for basically everything in the last years. It also ties in with DeathATM and shows that just like she said, be it for brainwashing or anything else, Talia doesn't care squat about Bruce anymore. Kudos to Winick for another good job done. Even in sex, he manages to surprise me.

Hmm...Gonna have to check this series out. Judd is hit and miss with me. Seems odd that Jason would resent Bruce, yet Winick's run on Batman (pre-Infinite Crisis) has him saying that he doesn't. Also the part with Talia is far fetched. Why would you settle for Jason when you just had a kid with Bruce? I mean, that's like why settle for the kicker when you just had the QB?

That's... Well, I guess this issue is going to make a lot of theories go around. ^^'

Who cares if Damian finds out he can't do nothing to Jason he's already been taking down by him twice

Wait, I read Resurrection of Ra's Al Ghul but not Death and the Maidens. Does that explain why Talia is a BITCH OF EPIC PROPORTIONS in Batman and Robin?
