I'm really loving how the artists alternate either between doing her original X-Men incarnation and between various ways of the Phoenix too. I just cant pick a favorite. I want 'em all!

They're all awesome. I' would've drawn Phoenix emerging from a toaster, biting on a piece toast and winking at us. I love these vids.

Surprised we didn't see anyone go with a Cylon. I think I would have done Jean Grey with a little remote control classic Cylon toy.

I thought someone would do it, Jean crushing a Cylon telekinetically. But still real good stuff.

This is probably my favorite feature on this site. When con vids start showing up, I always know one of these is coming and it's a great series. Thanks @g_man. We do appreciate your work! :)

Wow, I really loved almost all of them and finally Peter Nguyen does one that's actually good!!! I really liked his use of telekinesis. My favorite ones were Todd Nauck's of course, Daniel HDR, and Micheal Wlash. I loved Anges too and it was better than Chris'. Chris' was my least favorite. It was good art but it just felt too simple nothing extravagant like the others.

@harrymcback: You know, someone actually asked about that. I forget who, though.

Wow! I think this is the first time I've been impressed by every single artist. Everyone clearly put in a lot of love to their workn and it seems like the dead weight from previous challenges has really been dropped. My favorite is probably Michael Walsh's, but Chris Giarusso's one really brought the funny.

Jean Grey was also a good choice of character, as there was much more variation in regards to which version of the character each artist chose than usual.

Tony tainting their artistic vision by insinuating that toast may or may not be included... For shame!

This was really fun to watch, I wonder if the comicvine office now has half a dozen Jean Grey with a toaster commissions hanging on the wall?

Man, I really enjoy watching these videos. Especially when they all have similar ideas and yet all of them end up looking awesome in their own ways.

Each one of these...fantastic. I agree, I love all the reactions as well to the content of the Mystery Art Challenge by the artists. Love watching each one work, fascinating.

@g_man: Any chance you may be able to interview a few artists regarding the material and tools they use?

I know it is a lot to ask but I am very curious about the supplies, brands, and of course their techniques.

Thanks for the cool vid and all the convention coverage you always provide.

yeah i'd love to know too.

Now this is the video we've all been waiting for from NYCC!

Great challenge! It just got better and better towards the end: Walsh, Nauck and Superior Agnes; her Jean Grey looks so cute and mean at the same time. Wow!

The first thing I had in mind when I read the title...

Sylar and a... Toaster!

Great entries, and it's cool seeing the pictures coming together like that. I think Agnes Garbowska and Todd Naucks are my favourites.

That was a great vid, thanks!

Always interesting to see different artistic interpretations of the same scene. And I loved that you included the process as well. It was a pleasure just watching them work. I wasn't familiar with any of them before this vid but props to them!
