Just a note, the first part of the video is SPOILER FREE if you managed to still avoid hearing who is the casualty. We make it clear when the spoilers will come.

interesting but the music was a bit weird, not mourning but just different.

I am hoping for Hickman to make the best out of the casualty's sacrifice, great video guys. You should read my review of #587 =D (I think its the first one out there) completely spoiler free. Cheers.

I really like it when you guys do video. You should make more of them.

Anyone have a pool going on when the remaining three will go up to heaven and get Johnny back like they did for Ben?

"...what happens after a member of the team suffers a casualty."

Simple  MARVEL fills the job with some other shmuck for a few moths and then brings the original member back in one of a dozen typical ways such as:
"Hey everyone!  I wasn't really dead!"
or
"Yeah, I sure was dead, but I got better."

Although I miss the Unscripted videos, these new features (not really sure what to call them) are great.

Posted by G-Man
@ProjektGill: Between you and I, I still call them Unscripteds since we don't have anything...scripted out. That's how I label the video file after editing. But for now, they're not official official Unscripteds.

i suspected the person who died will die as he/she has the potential to evolve further like jason todd

Posted by Icemizer

It was a Skrull, had to be. Oh wait they did that once already. Maybe the Scarlet Witch could bring him back. I believe that Daredevil guy is out of work. Is Toro busy? Wheres Professor Horton when you need him.

I bought it yesterday and dont really want to open the bag. I've been keeping track of whats been going on but i havent been reading every comic so should i buy this book a second time or just let it go and read the after math?

How fitting, G-Man is wearing a FF shirt for this review.

Okay...
How many of you watched the video all through the Spoilers without reading the issue first?

i think its fairly clear that WOLVERINE will join the FF and fill the void!

@ProjektGill: Yeah. I still miss the Unscipted video reviews too. =[

@G-Man: Is it likely we will ever see Unscripted return anytime soon?
Posted by daikari

I believe he will survive and I have a good idea who helps him survive the negative zone. I think his 'ex-wife' Lyja will some how help him survive. The last time we saw her she decided to stay in the negative zone to find out who she really was.

Fantastic issue. One of the best I have every read.
5 out of 5.

Gasp. Blasphemy. Shame on you, Babs, for suggesting Sue dying would be a good idea and shame on the rest of you for not seeing how predictable it would've been if Sue had died. The struggles and everything you describe about her being the emotional glue is essentially Scott & Jean, along with a whole bevy of other relationships. I'm tired of seeing the girlfriend die so that the lead male can get all stubbly and angsty, it's done in comics all the time.

I think Reed should've died. Think about it, the leaders of teams very seldom fall and if they do (like with Cap), there's someone to take their place. Why should Reed define the Fantastic Four? This is something I never get, why is it that we obsess over leaders and rely on them so much like with Tony Stark or Cyclops, why is it that only person can define the motivation behind a group of people.

If Reed died they'd have more intricate plotlines because they couldn't always rely on his technology, Sue would be single, and they'd have one less powerplayer.

Eh, still not sold on this. LOVE Hickman, but couldn't care a less about the FF. Torch was the safest choice. Like you guys said, he sadly can accomplish more deceased then he's been doing alive for the past few years.

I wonder how heartbreaking this issue was compared to Ben's death during Waid's FF run

Franklin-"I could make more time" If He could make more time why doesn't he so he can save his uncle. We know how powerful these kids are so why dont they use their powers to their full potentials?

What is Franklin doing here

What is the Annhilation wave and why does it look like a bunch of bugs and monsters?

Johnny easily replaced here....
Nova - Silver Surfer #51
Frankie Raye  long time friend of the FF

I think that there were future story opportunities more guaranteed to be amazing with the death of, say,

The reasons for that are, well, you all stated.

However, the person they picked was very fitting, it worked well. Yes, it was cliched, but the fact that it was so impactful and so moving is a testament to how it overcame the cliche. The moment where said person comes to terms with their death was utterly magnificent, and everything was just so well executed.

People who are complaining that deaths never last are missing the point. No, they don't, but so what? Have Marvel milked death over the past few years? Arguably so, sure. Does that mean you have to act like you're too cool to appreciats something as emotionally grounding as this? No. That's my issue with peoples' reactions to this. My biggest problem will be if they ruin it with a quick or shoddy return.

F.F. needs to get here.

Again, Hickman said in an interview that there wont be a fantastic four comic next year:P
Great video guys!

The Scarlet Witch will say: "No more dead Johnny."
Maybe Franklin will return Johnny to life.
Perhaps Johnny was a LMD, a Skrull, some synthetic lifeform while Johnny was really at the bottom of the ocean under the protective care of the Phoenix.

Overall, I have little faith that this 'death' will stick. It didn't stick for 99.999% of the other dead Marvel characters. Why should it stick now?

Posted by Zghost

I think the spoiler thing I did isnt working and I see others posting who died so I will ask my question without the spoiler.

*SPOILER* just incase

How does someone who can burn as hot as the sun die if he is flamed on?  He could literally melt everything and anything that would come near him if something was close enough to grab him its arm would turn to ash when it grabbed him, even in the marvel universe there are not to many character that can handle the heat of the sun.

@DEGRAAF:  He dosen't want franklin to change the time because that would mess up the time line, and not "right". Just because you can do stuff doesn't mean you should.
The Anniliation wave is a group of aliens that took out most of the civilizations in the universe. Kree, shiar skrulls ECT.

@Zghost: technally they don't show him die. So maybe this is happening now. We are supposed to think he is dead but really he is fighting them to the bitter end, but eventually he will get tired and must flame off, so he could be doing excatly what you said, but maybe he just runs out of juice and falls to the hordes. we are supposed to beleve he had and epic ending, although they never showed it. So it's up to our imaginations to think of what happened. Maybe he fought for days then fell, either way he falls.

@HexThis:  We like leaders simply because not everyone can lead as you put it. It takes a lot to lead a team, whether it be hockey, the army or superheroes, not everyone is a leader or has quilfications to be one. You might think someone would be a good leader, but that is not always the case. We love leaders because they take the burdens of a whole team and look out for the team while making the plans to take down your foes. not everyone can be a leader, and it takes a special someone to be a leader. that is why we love leaders so much.  And I call blasphemy on YOU! for suggesting it should have been Reed ha ha

@G-Man:  great video guys! Love your vids, would love to see more!

@G-Man: when are regular unscripteds coming back? those are probably my favorite part of comicvine
Posted by DEGRAAF
@Kid_Zombie:
Yea and i guess he was just brought up right bc if it were me and i was a 10-12 kid with those powers, i would probably create more time to save my uncle (if my uncle was Johnny Storm). I figured with powers like Franklins, he could handle the whole situation. Plus i dont see creating more time as altering the future necessarily but i can see a good arguement againt that statement as well.

I figured
tHe human Torch going as hot as he could would kill anything close to him keeping him untouchable by the Annihilation Wave
 also
im not sure if Annihilus is there leading the charge or how he fares compared to the rest of his army in insectoids but his page says he only flies as 150 mph which i would guess is much much slower then johnny. I would think he could fly circles around all of them.

Franklin's Abilities:
vast reality warping powers and psionic powers.  This is the ability to make a thought a reality. His reality warping power is at a cosmic scale and maybe an infinite. He has shown to create a pocket universe, create life doubles of someone, bring back the dead, and create whole planets.  - With these abilities couldnt he have save the one that has been lost?

Couldnt Franklin have
Duplicated Johnny (which might not be any easier to watch happen) so he would still be alive? Or just recreate him from nothing or from a hair or something? Could have created a pocket universe to send the Annhilation wave to?
His powers have been shown to be Telepathy and have been able to use them over a radius of 250 miles long. - could use this ability to make
The Annhilation Wave go somewhere else, or make themselves in visible to the annhilation wave.
He has telekinetic abilities.  - use this ability to Force the Annhilation Wave away or around them
He has precognitive powers. These manifest themselves in his dreams. They are days in the future and they are mostly always going to happen. This power has increased to the point where he could see the future when he is awake.  - Wouldnt he have seen this coming and been able to prepare with Valeria for it?
He can Astral Project which he calls his Dream self projection. This has no limit to how far he can go. - No real use for this ability at the time

Franklin is one of the most powerful beings in the marvel universe. I mean i could be wrong since i assume you read more and know more about the m then me but these all seem like possibilities

I'm not saying it's a good idea.... I'm just saying that I think that will happen, since we saw Spidey in an FF costume...

if someones going to die, fine, but they still have that time machine in their baxter building, they can just go back in time and prevent it.

Again, I ask: WHY?!!?!? WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

I think it's time for an embargo on comic book deaths.
Posted by The_Martian

I called this a long time ago in several threads:

Also a note I didn't mention in my original post and wasn't brought up in the video about Thing's impact on the Marvel Universe. Not only is he a member of the New Avengers(Made in my original post), but he is also the host of the Superhero Community Poker Games. So Thing has a personal relationship with the Marvel Universe that no other Fantastic Four member has. He also has a lot of respect from the Superhero Community because of his stance that he took in the Civil War. Unlike everyone else, he thought it was crazy to go around beating up on your allies.

@DEGRAAF:  YUP. Ha ha all possibliities, but like i said to someone else, for all we know that is happening now ha ha. Maybe that is how they bring him back next year.
Franklins parents are superheroes i would assume he was brought up right, and told not to change things that happen or he will turn out batshit crazy like scarlett witch.

They never actually show him die, so for all we know he isn't dead, he is fighting the hordes for years to come. But I would think he would run out of juice sooner or later, he stiil needs to eat and sleep. So he could have had an epic battle to his final breath, it was left to our imaginations so really anything could have happened. Maybe he did go supernova and killed a lot of them, tired him out and was killed by the last one standing, who knows really. ha ha

But yes, all possibilities and im sure one of them will be right and that is how they bring johnny back. or he didnt die and ended up killing all the horde, and hes locked in the negative zone for a year till they can get him out. really anything is possible in FF comics ha ha

Although, I have been reading so many comments about "who cares he'll be back in a year" ECT. So would be helarious if marvel was like fuck you this is the one person who is staying dead just cuz u people said that ha ha

"What trouble is Johnny getting into today? Oh he's starting a rock band." HAHAHAHAHHA!
"Sara would be so excited if Sue died." again, HAHAHAHAHHA!
"Franklin, Franklin, Franklin!" "That's mean." Just funny~

Wrath of Khan + Armagedon = Awesome~

I actually guessed the death from the beginnin of the event, for all the same reasons ya listed. I dunno, it was obvious to me, a non-F4 fan. ^_^
