Excellent recap of the week! :)

Edited by FoxxFireArt

I'd kind of like to enter that contest, but I like the costume the way it is for Batman. Especially the ARKHAM CITY tweaks. Still. I always enjoy the new for the week. Thanks.

@ChaosBlazer:

That's not Japanese. That new trailer portion is Chinese.

That old TV clip was Japanese.

@FoxxFireArt: I was referring to the old TV clip

@ChaosBlazer:

Yeah, I figured that after I first posted. Though. that Japanese SPIDER-MAN was no more or less silly that the American live-action SPIDER-MAN series. I remember seeing those when I was really little.

Thanks for the news Sara. I hope Amazing Spiderman is a good movie. I have always been a big Spidey fan and just want this movie to be more humorous and better acted than the Tobey ones. (I didnt hate them I just always wanted more from them.)

Is it wrong for me to only watch these videos to ogle at Babs?

Posted by feargalr

Andrew Garfield has arguable the best hair ever.

Also Sara/Babs another job well done :)

Great job of avoiding spoilers. For some reason, you appeared transparent against the greenscreen backdrop image... know you have a lot on your editing plate, so not a gripe by any means.

I hope you get a chance to do another rap, everyone loved the job you did! Maybe you're thinking of rhymes for "Court of Owls" and "Greg Land" right now...

:P

Babs!!!!!! Thats Chinese! LOL

WOW Japanese spider-man talks Japanese in English!!!! No bloopers this time!!???

I have to say, Sara's commitment to reporting the news is admirable - not even death can stop her! Unless this is a Sixth Sense situation and she doesn't realize SHE'S BEEN A GHOST THIS WHOLE TIME :O

Nicely done, Babs. I gotta say: I actually hope the Talon book doesn't do well. Batman hasn't had an interesting rogue added to his gallery since Scarface & the Ventriloquist, and they've since replaced him with a woman version (or has that changed again in the New 52?). Azrael was interesting as a villain, but like Talon, became popular, and DC found a way to turn them into heroes, or at least anti-heroes. I want a new, cool Bat-villain that stays a villain. There's no reason for Talon to be a good guy.

Until I can think of something better, I think the Batman on the left here is the current gold standard for a redesign. Replace the thingie on RMB's hat with the Marc Ecko logo and we're done!

On Dredd: No, it's not a movie I'd want to see since there is nothing about Dredd's universe that appeals to me.

On Talon: The big reveal, if it's true, could be seen as a moment in a high wire artists career where he falls down. Court of Owls has been really impressive over all, despite the idea not being terribly original, but the reveal really gambles it all away as a move we saw not that long ago (however unlike Morrison, Synder appears to be making it real).

@cbishop: You know theres multiple Talons right?

Yep. I just fear this story is going to copy the story of the original Manhunter (the one whose clone showed up in Power Company) or Nemesis (which also copied Manhunter) - one breakaway goodguy fighting the entire organization of bad guys, until he brings them down and the shadowy "Council" that runs them. I'd love to be wrong, but this doesn't smell like a new story. Also, the costume design's kind of lackluster, so it doesn't seem designed to stay around.

Th@CharlesAlanRatliff
That's kind of a creepy thing to say.

The Japanese Spider-Man Show is full of fun.

Is it me or does the news seem kind of blah since CV changed the format?

@cbishop: I share your same fears man.

It's becoming more professional. It's a little bit of a trade-off - being part of CBS Interactive gives them more legitimacy with which to gather news, interviews, and special previews. The trade-off being that not treating it with sarcasm means you get more news, interviews, and special previews in the future. You can still infuse it with humor and fun, but there wasn't a lot to be funny about in this segment. I'm sure we'll see more of that when it presents itself.

I appreciate your support. ;)

Is this a new format where you voice over the news rather than we see you talk about it?

Posted by kagato

Im pretty sure that trailer is Chinese and not Japanese, the text is all wrong and since im learning (slowly) the Japanese language right now, the narrator is definetly not Japanese.

I think what we're seeing isn't so much professionalism, but a lack of resources and video producers for Comic Vine. Since Sara has to do virtually everything for the segment, the ability to be spontaneous and clever is overridden by the stress of keeping track of everything. The absence of Joey cannot be overstated. Sure, Comic Vine might be owned by CBSi now, but it's not like they've been handed an army of video producers. Sara is doing the best she can, of course.

Even Giant Bomb, which always had priority in production resources back at Whiskey Media, has been hurting since the move. Hopefully this phase will pass soon enough, and they can expand and bring in some dedicated video producers to take over the majority of the video workload so Sara and Tony can get back to focusing on creativity and not logistics.

Y'know what? I was kinda talking out of my hat on that last post. I don't know if being part of CBS Interactive has helped them or not - I was just making an assumption, based on what I think I see when I watch the videos. I don't check the other sites as much.

Nice job Sara,  mellifluous to the max!

I've not followed Iron Man for a while, so excuse me if this is a daft question. I realise the classic Mandarin is viewed as racist these days, so he's had a very boring redesign, but is he not actually Chinese anymore? He's coloured Caucasian in the art here.

Talon seems to be a cross, visually, between Aquaman and a Hawkman rug. I could never read about a chap with such an untidy chin.

I enjoy these videos.

Still not excited about Spider-Man for some reason... Not even in Japanese (and THAT's crazy talk).

I have reserved hopes for Dredd. The stills look great for a supposedly low budget flick. I like that he supposedly won't take the helmet off the entire film, but taking on someone called 'Mama' in a live action film... Well, I'll reserve judgement (pun intended) until I see it.

The development in Batman did nothing for me. I've liked the story so far (and Capullo's art) for the most part, though. It's a little sad that when all is said and done, the story has to resort to a 'shocker' instead of just trying to tell a quality story. I HATE the soap opera for nerds aspect of the Big 2 comic universes (and I mean that in the kindest way).

Great segment, Sara, but I would have rather heard you on the podcast last week even if you have been going off on political tangents lately.
