yeah...all you need is for G-Man to wear a blue polo and a captains hat and maybe you can convince Red Lamp to dress as Gilligan

The video screen is black with a constant "loading" message. Maybe it's my browser, I'm useing IE. Anyone know if a diffrent browser is preferable when visiting the site?

I haven't seen them either but with Babs' recomendations I'm thinking I might have to...

Question.. could it be that DC is just pulling a hoax to see if by saying that  they won't make a sequel people will start buying more?

Anyone else thought The Jonah Hex trailer was really cheesy?

Posted by Bruce Vain
@Babs:
Such an epic fail on DC's part of cancelling the sequels to Wonder Woman and Green Lantern. Hopefully, with the upcoming GL movie they might reconsider and do the sequel to the animated feature. But for WW seems like she always gets screwed. Not having a live movie yet, scripts being turned down left and right, Joss Whedon noting wanting to do it, and now no sequel to her animated movie. Which to me was one of the their best movies & would've hoped to have push even harder for  making a live movie for her.

Green Lantern was alright. Could've been better, but it wasn't bad.

How come I never heard about the Jonah Hex movie until the trailer last week?

The Thor outfit does look nice. Though he had a lot better chance to translate then Hawkman every did.

Actually, I believe it may be the fridge.

I think it will be telling to see how well the Thor movie will do. If hopes hold high. This could lead to a possible Wonder Woman live action movie. Both had rather convoluted origin stories. One of the biggest trials for the two characters when translating into live action and the big screen.

Sad to hear about the DC animated movies.  What they should do is not offer them to rent.  After I rented them and watched them, being low on money, I couldn't justify buying them... yet.  But when I wasn't able to rent certain animated DVDs I bought them.

When I saw the animated GL it made me imagine a whole series.  I could imagine all the adventures, all the characters, all the stories they could do.  I still think DC should turn Green Lantern into a cartoon series for when the movie comes out.  Imagine even bringing characters like the Red Lanterns, the Yellow Lanterns, Parallax, and more recent stuff, into animated form.

I'm also sad to hear that some projects, not just sequels, were scrapped like Batgirl Year One.  That would have been cool.

Oh, and very nice job.  Very enthusiastic.

@Bruce Vain:
Well said.  Haven't yet seen the animated Wonder Woman movie but it is still a craptastic decision by Warner Bros. not to do an animated sequel.

I was actually under the impression Warner Bros. may have started a line of animated movies featuring a number of great DC characters but sadly that looks like my assumption may have been misplaced.

Disappointing.

"@Babs: The problem is you don't even have to illegally download DC's animated movies. I've watched almost all of them through Cartoon Network or Netflix.  Airing those movies on Cartoon Network so soon after release doesn't seem smart.  Shame about the WW,GL sequals. The only time I ever liked Wonder Woman....ever. "

The problem with "sales not being high enough" goes to the way DC handles its characters.

With Superman and Batman, the average person (not comic fan) could tell you about their stories. You can go out and buy a S shirt or a Batman shirt. They've had tons of animated cartoons. The live action movies and TV series for years. DC has invested in those two and won.

Wonder Woman doesn't get that. Where's her animated series? Where are the WW shirts and merchandise? What does the average public know about WW aside from invisible plane, Linda Carter, and lasso of truth? Her public profile, outside of the comic fan....and even inside comic fans....just isn't that great because DC hasn't invested in her.

With the Green Lantern, DC is finally investing in him (and Flash), but it'll take those wide-release, live-action films to boost their overall public profiles (like with what we see happening with Iron Man). Someone even said do a GL animated series....that's another great idea.

If DC's disappointed with the sales then it's on them for not investing in their own characters beyond Batman and Superman.

It looks like I see Deadpool and Fanta...... whoever that guy in the all white and was Weapon 12 or was it 11?

@lostlantern13: Exactly the entire main point thanks.  I am really pissed that wonder woman dose not have no popularity like the other two. She should of been made into a movie during superman and batman's first films. Yet the most important female hero ever. As a  green lantern fan the most I am happy but surprised that they chose him as the third besides wonder woman.

@greenenvy: @lostlantern13:
Wonder Woman is in the public eye, she's part of DC's trinity for a reason.

She does have plenty of merchandise, shirts, underwear, onesies, boots, even flip flops.
Heck when I was a young boy I had a Wonder Woman action figure.
You mentioned the tv show starring Linda Carter that was popular and people still remember it.
She's a popculture icon. The "average joe" knows who shes is, even if they don't know much about her.

Which is more than I can say for Green Lantern.

Granted I'm not saying it's the only problem but in my opinon the biggest problem is that you can watch these movies legally without paying a single cent.

"

I don't know where you shop, but I've never seen any Wonder Woman merch. I see pink 'S' shirts.

I don't see any Wonder Woman shows. You're talking about Linda Carter but that show ended 31 years ago....there's generations that have grown up without ever really seeing it. We're not just talking about comic fans, but people in general.  I just don't think the average person would be interested in Wonder Woman...not on the same level as Batman, Superman, Spider-Man, Hulk, or even, now, Iron Man. These characters with TV shows (live action and animated...especially animated), merch all over, movies, and everything.

I gotta say that I like this setup for the Comic Vine News better than the previous setup.  Having the TV there gives a bit more depth to the production as a whole.

Also, I REALLY don't like Josh Brolin's makeup in Jonah Hex.  I know that the little piece of skin is supposed to be over his lip...but it seriously looks fake as Hell.  I'm calling it:  Daredevil is better than Jonah Hex.

@Decept-O:
You need to watch it my friend. You will certainly love it. I was surprised how mature and executed it was.

What was nice was that they were doing animated features of the other heroes in the DC universe and not just Batman & Superman. Would've been nice to have seen that Aquaman feature been made.

The Thor picture looks great!

Bummer! No more Wonder Woman? Yuck!

@Bruce Vain:
I HAVE to see the Wonder Woman animated movie now.  It looked awesome just from the trailer alone.  Thanks for the recommendation.

Aquaman, and any other DC character sure would be great.
