But Aquaman isn't protecting a city so shouldn't he have a beard??

Posted by TheMantisShrimp

Aquaman should have kept his beard, it makes him look more royal. Maybe Jeff Parker will bring it back during his arc.

@g_man perfect video now the no shave November is done!

I think heroes actually look a lot cooler with beards like Punisher for example. I also think the opposite Tony, that superheroes can hide their secret identities better if they only had a beard when they are superheroes and have a clean shave when they are not superheroing. Hey, if you think about it at least it's a better than just having glasses to protect your identity. lol

Thought that beard was real for a second there Tony!

nice video topic

I like seeing some heroes with beards. Others don't pull it off too well. Aquaman definitely pulls it off. Wish we'd see more of it.

As a bearded man I've been ranting about this over and over again. I want my bearded Green Arrow back god damn it!

@judasnixon: Ollie with his trademark beard is a must I agree.

Unless a hero needs to keep his identity a secret and wears a mask, yup, he has to shave often keep that stubble out of trouble.

Heroes that do quite well rocking the beard are Hercules and Thor from Marvel. Tony Stark has that infamous goatee but his identity is a moot point.

Hrm. Gorgon from The Inhumans sports one. Dr. Strange also has one, well, sort of. Puck from Alpha Flight; of the few masked heroes who also had a beard but again, his identity was a bit of a moot point.

I know there are others.

@g_man I want that T-shirt! Was just talking about the Big Red Cheese the other day.

1. Tony that is the greatest shirt I have ever seen

2. I prefer Aquaman without the beard, go classic

3. Speaking of Aquaman and epic beards Aquaman Bitch!

How about one of those 52 universes in DC's multiverse has an earth where all superheroes have beards. That would be cool. Although I'm not sure about Wonder Woman with a beard..

Pogonophobia- or fear of bearded men(ironically enough none of the following actuall HAD beards AS SUCH - Lenin, Stalin, Hitler all had mustaches or goatees

(only Fidel Castro was of course a bearded man per se). Perhaps more heroes( like Marvel's Hercules and Thor at one stage) should grow facial hair( when was the last bearded US President-not since Grover Cleveland I think?)just to prove how baseless the fear of beards is in reality!)

@paracelsus: Hehehe! Totally agree, I think a well groomed beard could lend a certain air of maturity and dependability to a hero! They should take back the beard, it is not a thing to be feared. I could get behind that ^_^

Is there a pogonophilia too? If there is, I have it O__o

Aquaman and Green Arrow can't both have beards, I much rather Ollie have the beard then Aquaman..

2 minutes of heroes being on a multiple teams with multiple personalities ie Wolverine

@g_man: I don't get it since when there's a place that Clark Kent has to wear the beard? Most places think it's unprofessional to have a beard like his job most likely...unless Lois Lane wanted him to wear the beard because he looks "sexy". I'm picturing Clark Kent with his beard saying "uh huh huh" (that thing you always say...I don't remember where it's from Edited: Elvis?) to Lois Lane. lol

I HATEEEEEEEEEEE when characters shave their beards... Aquaman, Green Arrow, Punsiher.

The Sentry with a beard was epic.

It was hilarious seeing G-Man go into this topic with only two minutes. Had me cracking up. I also love those Superman's Girl Friend Lois Lane covers. They're hilarious, bad, and sometimes disturbing.

Definitely agree with you on this.

I think the reason why many heroes doesn't have beards is because it is not clean looking and even though having a bear is normal these days there is still a kind of outlaw/rebellious look to it.

Btw Batman was only in thecae for a month or rather it didn't say exactly Alfred was just told not to open the cave for a month.

The goatee is a rather new thing. I more connect a moustache with Tony Stark and a goatee with Ollie.
