Yay! opening question!

thanks for answering the questions!

But Hawkeye's suit in the movie was still purple-esque!

any word on the "deadpool" movie?

Posted by FoxxFireArt

Poeple accepted the Xena costume for years. It's all in how it's done, and I don't really know if you have to set a WONDER WOMAN movie in modern times. Also, that TV series died quickly more because of that horrible first costume they showed that looked like a porn parody.

He doesn't either

Smoke up your butt. No one wants that.

Non-cape comics struggling all comes down to the advertising. They don't have the same level of name recognition. There are some people who hate what will be happening in standard comics, but they will keep buying it. It's just the series they collect.

I hated that EPISODE 3 killed Aayla Secura. Though, I didn't like about 90% of the prequels.

I think someone slipped Tony a Rockstar....make that coffee.

Here's a question I have: with all the focus on Hope being the vessel for the Phoenix, is it possible that Brian Michael Bendis is going to make the one the force possesses someone nobody would think could hold the force?

Ex. Wolverine being the next Phoenix. Or even Colossanaut.

Leather ( certain places) comment made me laugh so much.

I think the Wonder Woman costume could just be tweaked like they did with Captain America for a movie. Give her the Roman styled skirt and make her corset thingy armor and give her traditional Roman/Greek type weapons and armor and stuff similar to this:

George Lucas was on the Daily Show and said that the cool thing about all the Star Wars stuff is that one generation will have the movies, another will have the next 3 movies, and another generation will have the cartoons. And from that interview I got that the franchise to him isn't this untouchable thing. So I think it could be possible that the cartoons aren't the same universe as the movies. So the characters may not necessarily have to die. But I could be wrong, since I am not a huge Star Wars fan.

G-man is kinda hyperactive in this video.

Yay, Gmanfromheck answered my question. Thanks for the honest reply.

another great vid of Ask and you shall receive.

Bonus points for mentioning Bone, quite possibly the best comic ever published.

What is the placeholder image for the video taken from?

I don't think that a Justice league movie would work with the movies they have out right now. I think that they would have to make like Marvel and work up to it. The movies that are out right now are all stand alone movies that are not trying to tie anything together. If DC did take a look at Marvel's game plan then I think that a Justice League movie would be awesome.

Posted by FIash

Too bad you don't have time to play DCU online G-Man. You're missing out. It's fun!

Posted by G-Man

@FIash: Someday! Maybe after I finish Metal Gear Solid 3!

Thanks for answering my question, Tony. Would be cool to see more indie stuff more non-Big Two stuff more regularly on ComicVine! =)

@FoxxFireArt: Yeah, it drives me crazy when comic book guys rant and rave about whatever a cape comic is doing but they still buy it every week. I know more than one guy who spends literally all day long talking about how terrible Marvel is but that's all they ever do, and it consumes them. They still buy Marvel books every week, too. It's gross and depressing. If those kinds of folks just bought what they thought was good then maybe indie books wouldn't get lost in the shuffle so much. It's like they have a dependency on capes and spandex though.

first wen need to do a flash movie, aquaman movie, and wonderwoman movie.

Ok. What is that picture of Movie Batman holding a piece of kryptonite from?

The G-Man is all knowing. He's very on point with his answers and I look forward to these segments every week from now on.

Great new edition of your Q and A

looks like you have lipstick on =3

Posted by notarandomguy

I think Stephanie Brown is a great character for the mentioned ''secret six'', how about Tempest for the last one?

Posted by lightsout

I second Fetts' wondering of where that initial frame w/Batman & Superman is from

Posted by G-Man

@Fetts:

@lightsout:

It just popped up on google. Maybe it's from the "secret" JL movie that's being written. But seriously, not sure. I just thought it looked pretty cool.

Posted by Webjaker

@ArtisticNeedham:

I REALLY like that costume design, its more what she would wear based off her culture and being a warrior.

Miss the beard, i got used to it. Is that fundraiser thing over?

Posted by DoctorFluxx

Wonder Woman should have more of an armored skirt akin to Greek warriors, BAM there you go... it can be justified if you start the movies with her origin because it would make sense. The metal needs to look less cheap and plastic like the last attempt at a costume.

Posted by crazy8504

@Fetts:

I look it up and it seem to be really well down Photoshop, because i am pretty sure that's Brandon Routhfrom superman returns or at least looks like him not sure who the batman is though. also if you look at the kryptonite the edges around it seem to be cut and paste on it.

Posted by sithfrog

@ArtisticNeedham: Great idea for the WW costume!

@G-Man: Thanks for another great "Ask..." I have the same t-shirt.

Great stuff G-Man!!

Good video. :)

Edited by ArtisticNeedham

@Webjaker: @sithfrog: Thanks. I agree that the armor would go exactly with her origins. and by the way, I didn't make, just found the pics on Comicvine (since i can't upload my own but thats another story). But I think her costume is what has held her back from the movies. But it can all be fixed like the pictures I posted. Plus, depending on the story they tell for why she left Themiscara, they can explain her red, white, gold, and blue, costume in a few ways. One being maybe she designed it to appeal to American's basing it off their flag so they know she is not an enemy to them or something. The armored look would be really cool. Not a swim suit, and not cheesy. Here is another pic I remember seeing, not made by me but still the same idea:

Posted by Queso6p4

@FoxxFireArt: Zena still has one of my favorite openings of shows from that time period. As far as advertising goes, I'd have to agree, but like G-Man pointed out, word of mouth is still a highly effective way of getting information out. When you couple that with the wonderful world wide web, it could be a whole new ball game.

@Necrotic_Lycanthrope: Unfortunately, this has already happened and no it wasn't pretty.

@jcohn6354: Couldn't agree with you more, and having films all tie into each other, with how disparate they are, would be quite a feat, indeed. You'd have to redo all of them, imo.

@FIash: Is it still free-to-play?

@Pixel_Kaiser: I kinda feel for people like the ones you're describing but they're part of the problem. If a series bothers you that much, drop it ( I know this can be painful), write to the creators and tell them why you dropped it, respectfully of course, and then try something else out. Heck, they could even try doing their own comic.

@dewboy01: That's a tall order. I liked both the 70s WW and 90s Flash shows.

Another very enjoyable segment but, unfortunately, I have to agree with G-Man's take on Tano. Her character's death would awesomely serve as another catalyst in Anakin's descent to the Dark Side. That being said, I'd be more interested in how, if they choose to, they keep her alive as I've expected her death from the beginning.

I'm totally with you there on the whole "Banner being the bad guy" answer you gave. There just has to be something more to the equation we're not seeing yet. Gotta admit the ending to Incredible Hulk #7.1 was pretty hilarious though...

Tony thank you for your honest answer as to why Wonder Woman's swimsuit style costume won't work in a movie. I've been trying to explain this to people for what seems like forever, but if they go with an outfit that looks similar to the pics ArtisticNeedham posted with that Greco-Roman style to it along with a great story then the movie should be easy to pull off.

"Tim Drake is the best"

I've been on the vine a long time, I've heard you say allot of true things in that time. This is by far the truest

Posted by Danial79

Tony, are you secretly Too Much Coffee Man? You were quite hyper in this clip :)

Posted by G-Man

Man, I can't wait to get a better camera. I apologize for the quality in this and last week's. It's a trade off between sound and video right now. All our cameras are being used at E3 but I am getting my own soon. I have no idea why it looks like I'm wearing lipstick. It looks like I at a red popsicle or something.

Superman is better than Batman! >:(

My question is based on the fact that the setting will be on Earth, and Odyssey's or New 52's costume I feel is more practical than her original costume or any costume like her original costume or any armor

Lucas has stated there are different levels of canonicity. Thus, everything's canon unless contradicted by something of higher canonicity. That's how weird stuff from the extended canon can get brought into conversation, unless it's contradictory, or you the smarter thing and leave.

It's cyclical. In Crisis on Infinite Earths, Batman hardly mattered. DKR came out, a bunch of teens saw how kewl Batman was not like that staid Superman, and those teens are the creators and writers now. That and there is always the allure of the underdog combined with the somewhat self-indulgent conceit that anyone with enough drive could be Batman (nevermind being tall and solidly built, a scion of old money, and that genius intellect) unlike the impossibility of being the last member of an alien race that gets a funky high from a yellow sun. So basically better to be old money than an immigrant orphan.

I say kewl not to be directly disparaging of those folks, only that as crowning moment of awesome it might all have been, it's not like Superman, up to that point in the narrative, hadn't fought a supersmart, resourceful human with the accumulated wealth of a small nation, that was also uniquely fixated on murdering him and willing to endanger/sacrifice anything to defeat him...for like literal decades. Him being surprised by anything other than seven layers of deception, superscience, and built in subliminal messaging from translated Kryptonian texts is the problem, and having to deal with legions of people who were influenced directly or indirectly by DKR where "He's Batman, he always wins/always has a plan" somehow became a meme has been annoying.

Posted by FanofUltraman

@huser: You sure spent a lot of time writing nothing. Hahaha I jest.

@Fetts: yehh what the heck.. i thought that was like DC's version of Marvels Nick Fury moment (in Iron Man) for a second there

Posted by crazyflashfan11

hey, who do you think would be awesome for a flash movie?

Edited by THEBlaqueBasterd

@huser:lol.. Batmans ALWAYS been important.. imo DKR has nothing to do with his popularity (which has always been relatively high) in or out of comics.. all it did was open the eyes of SERIOUS peeps who were previously only interested in Godfather 1&2 quality level type material

but i get your hilariously well-crafted point

Important? Sure. Real parity with Superman? That is a far more recent affair. There's a reason Superman preceded Batman onto TV and major motion picture by more than a decade each time.

Also, just to be clear, I was talking about the Frank Miller comic Dark Knight Returns. While I suppose in the real world it came out around the time of the Godfather movies, I don't see how that really connects, so I'm guessing you are talking about the Nolan movies. Which goes to my comment that teens in the 80's "grew up" since then.
