    Vibranium

Object » Vibranium appears in 309 issues.

Vibranium is a metal primarily found in the African nation of Wakanda. It is able to absorb any vibrations and kinetic energy directed at it as its molecules behave as if at absolute zero. Because of this, it has been a highly sought after material to be weaponized.

    is vibranium stronger than adamantium?

i think it has to do more with the properties of the metals rather than the actual strength of them.

Yes it's considered to be. I believe adamantium was created as a result of a failed attempt to recreate the alloy that made up Captain America's vibranium shield. Anyway vibranium is shown to be more durable than adamantium.

There is more than one vibranium anyway, the "active" one destroys other metals at the molecular level. It's one of the sources of Wakanda's wealth if I remember correctly.

Precisely. If measuring by a traditional hardness scale, adamantium is harder than vibranium. But due to its vibration-bearing properties, vibranium is almost impossible to destroy.

How about this, I make a sword out of Vibranium, you make one out of Adamantium we try to kill each other and whoever lives wins

Cap's shield is an adamantium/vibranium alloy that has never been able to be duplicated. It has the hardness of adamantium and the absorbtion ability of vibranium.

Vibranium is the most durable substance in the marvel universe due as it can withstand all forms of vibration (read: any force except magic, heat, or PIS). That said, adamantium is more dense than vibranium, meaning adamantium can slice through objects more easily. So if adamantium sword hits vibranium sword vibranium wins, but if adamantium sword and vibranium sword are in a competition to see what can cut through organic material faster, adamantium is going to win. Does that make sense?

Adamantium is stronger. Only cap's shield can withstand adamantium and it's an alloy. Not pure vibranium. Also if you had enough power to pass the threshold of energy caps shield can withstand adamantium would still come out on top.

@blackarmor: It would depend on which of us is more skilled with a sword, not the toughness of the metal.
