Anyone who knows anything about Vibe knows that he sucks. Sure, his new series is pretty decent, but Vibe sucks. He makes the negative stigma of Aquaman look like universal acclaim. His pre-crisis depiction was that of a stereotypical Latino gangster who liked to break dance. In essence, he was Luke Cage gone south of the border. He was so offensive that George Perez refused to draw him. Do Latinos still view him with this stigma? Is he still the Frito Bandito with superpowers?

he not black it always got on my nerves when nobody mention an Hispanic superhero for diversity an most of the times we only get an white guy or an African American or African and almost nobody cares to put Hispanic character an important one if anybody's wondering

Pre New 52, definitely, I actually cheered when they killed him off. But in the New 52 he's actually written with some genuine respect and is pretty likable.

Born in PR, raised in NYC. He isn't offensive at all. His new 52 origin story is DOPE. One of the few good things in the new 52.

Hopefully they keep doing more work with him. He has potential to be a big star in the future since he's a younger generation hero.

Vibe in the 80's was offensive specifically to Puerto Ricans. like there's actually a part in the comics (in the 80's) were he brings a white friend home, because the friend is white, to prove to his parents that not all his friends are in a gang, and when his white firend says hello to his sister Paco gets all "lay off my sister man, and it gets all West side Story all up in the place, like wtf! then there was all the break dancing and his name "Paco", like Paco is not a real name most Hispanics have, its mainly a joke name. He was really just one big Puerto Rican joke, for real. Then George Perez (Major Dc and Marvel comic artist of the 70s and 80s, and today) who is also PR, was so bigoted and disgusted towards Vibe that when he had to have Vibe cameo in the JLA vs Avengers comics there's literally only one panel with vibe in the background and it is just his legs. (then vibe dies after only having existed in Dc comics for abut 3 years and stays dead for the 27 years until he comes back as a black lantern in blackest night).

NOW! New 52. DC did good this time, they actually made Vibe matter, not a Hispanic joke.they introduced him once again in the justice league, gave him his own tittle too. this time he has an interesting origin story. also now he is featured as a major character in the flash TV series. he was really getting a lot of respect as a real character that matters, a PR superhero. then DC went and canceled his solo book, and that sucks. the problem was that DC gave him his own series too soon, not a lot of people knew who vibe was and Dc didn't give the character enough time to build a decent fan base before releasing him in his own solo series. I have not seen him appear in anything recently yet, so I hope they bring him back again.
