With the exceptions of Rising Stars and Superman: Red Son, Vertigo has produced/owned the rights to all of my favorite comics. Animal Man (my favorite comic of all time), V for Vendetta, Doom Patrol, Fables, Jack of Fables, Y:TLM (though I may be done after that god-awful explanation for the plague...), Testament--they're amazing. Unlike the Marvel MAX line, which seemed to take the GTA-inspired "boobs + swearing = mature" route, Vertigo instead actually producs intelligent, thought-provoking series. Astounding!

I enjoy Fables and Y:The Last Man, but most of the others have either never caught my attention or are too extreme for my tastes. However, I think Neil Gaiman's Sandman is the best pieces of literature I've ever read.

Love V obviously, love Y: The Last Man and enjoy the early Hellblazer stuff.

The title I absolutely adore from them though is 100 bullets. Man, reading those first couple trades when I got them was awesome. I'd totally avoided the series for god know why, but when I got into it I was hooked. I like any series that has to reinvent itself like that.

Speaking of Y though, does anyone else think that the new Clive Owen movie about the last pregnant woman seem kinda similar?

i started as a Marvel fan but now that i ended up buying aroun 80 titles per month i realize 1/4 or those are Vertigo.

I love almost everything Vertigo produces ..

the only thing that never appealed to me was (surprise) Sandman.

Transmetropolitan, Invisibles, Fables and Y-the last man are at the top of my "Vertigo list of greatness"

Vertigo just seems so relevant, I guess. Y:TLM, Fables, Sandman, and 100 Bullets freaking rock.

By the way, Children of Men is one of the best movies I've ever seen.

Honestly, the only Vertigo I've really gotten into reading was Animal Man. Great stuff.

Yeah, big vertigo nut here - I think its by far the best imprint out there, because of strong writing and talent of creators/editors.

My favorites are 'Y the last man', 'Sandman', 'Swamp Thing', 'Doom Patrol.'

Didn't realize 'V for Vendetta' is now considered Vertigo - appropriate I guess (V!), though Vertigo wasn't around when Vendetta was first out.

I love a lot of the Vertigo titles, especially Y, Hellblazer, Sandman, Preacher... So has anyone else heard rumors about a Y: The Last Man movie (not to be confused with Children of Men)? I'm excited.

I would have to say use to that. I'm getting use to Vertigo because I'm more of a DC guy. But I love Vertigo because those British comics are so much more serious and less gory, and corny. They have much more of what I want and looking for: like big business with corporation take over and more politics. The stuff that really makes think and question. Also big contreversal topics and more politics and racial questions. My favorite by far in the Vertigo universe is "V for Vendetta", ow, man that's what started me. Vertigo is great, since it's DC but more European it's like I can have both DC and have more maturity and variety and zaze.

Vertigo RULES, no question. They brought Jason Aaron's genius with The Other Side & now Scapled. I've got the full Testament & Loveless collections too. Preacher speaks for itself. It really is "The HBO of comics," like the ad says.

Too bad they wussed out on Ennis's "The Boys." Moved to Dynamite, a much less stellar publisher. I heard it all stemmed from the "hamster" issue? If so, DC needs to nut up.

I've really liked the Vertigo line, and with few exceptions, are all at least good. Anything from Sandman to House of Secrets to all those mini-series.

I remember some years back, before the MAX line, Marvel tried something Vertigo-esque. It had some name I can't remember. I got some Typhoid Mary mini-series, which was decent enough. There were other titles I can't remember. Anyways it didn't last long; maybe Marvel didn't have the patience or it might have been when they had financial difficulty and had to cut stuff. But yeah, MAX is that PG-13 sort of maturity, not the here's some really neat ideas/characters for mature audiences maturity.

I think that Punisher: Barracuda is an exception to that rule, Superkitty. But that's only because Ennis writes it :)

Sandman is pure awesomeness! I finished it a few weeks ago so I'm planning on getting Fables next, and I'm really looking forward to it. ^^
