I Remember You Friend!
This is a collection of the need to know Hellblazer stuff. It maybe refreshments for the veteran Hellblazer fans or a crash course for the new fans. It is still nice to have.
There are two stories new stories written here. Nice little fiction, nothing to deep. "The Gangster, the whore and the magician", written by Jamie Delano and illustrated by Tim Bradstreet. Also "The first time" written by Brian Azzarello. These stories were collected in the special edition Hellblazer in the two-disc DVD of Constantine the movie.
"The Gangster, the whore and the magician" is an interesting short story. Jamie Delano lays out a prose tale of John Constantine the conman, but the man that saves the lady from the monster as well. It is always nice to see Jamie Delano revisit the character he is most critically attached to.
"The First Time" is great because someone other then Jamie Delano wrote a story dealing with Young John Constantine. It is a story of his first Vice.
There is also a nice set of key character profiles, filled with important information and event summery.
There is the important Hellblazer Time-line up to the date of this comics release, which would be collected later in Rare Cuts.
I loved the Map of London and the explanations for the important of each site.
There is also a nice write-up to sum up the first 15 years of John Constantine. From his creation by Alan Moore to the admittance of Warren Ellis leaving the series prematurely, a nice little history lesson for new or old fan.
With John Constantine Celebrating his 25th aniversey, it would of been nice to see this comic reprinted or Secret Files vol.2 with new info. But I guess in an age of Fables, John Constantine is forgotten.
I remember you friend!
