    Not Very Possessing

The Marvel "What If..." series is a very absurd idea, taking what is more or less fan fics and creating them into actual brief stories for some fun. I personally have never been a fan of them, as they really add nothing to the Marvel Universe as a whole except for inconsequential side distractions that feel too short and too side tracked to matter.

    This is no different.

Rife with references and general Deadpool silliness, we watch as Deadpool, now dubbed Venompool since being possessed by it, go through the years of Marvel history as he struggles to become recognized and world renown. However, this comic never feels like it fully hits homes with what it says.; the jokes aren't really up to par, the ideas are there but the execution is fairly weak, and I didn't find myself caring about anything that was happening. The only real stand out moment was when Venompool and the What If version of Sentry began discussing the different versions of super heroes in this realm, riffing off petty arguments familiar to any comic reader and making fun of the ridiculous Secret Wars story arch of way back when.

Otherwise, it feels like a mess of nothing, jumping from one thing to the next in just a couple panels. The Uatus that keep showing up are dumb and annoying, none of the characters are likable or matter, and, though the end leaves off on a nice and somewhat inspiring note, it's undermined by the story up until that point, as there is nothing great to really pull from this.

In other words, go pick up something that doesn't waste your time.

THE BASICSA "What If" tale that deals with the crazy shenanigans that Deadpool would get into if he bonded with the Venom Symbiote. MY COMPLIMENTS TO THE CHEFI have no compliments. This thing is horrible.FEEL THE STING OF MY DISCONTENT!The title of this review is a bit unfair. It's true that I don't care for Deadpool or the style of his books, but they never really bothered me too much and I've even enjoyed a comic or two of his in the past. I just don't care for the style. (It would be fair to ...
