Venom is a character that seems to have grabbed hold of fans from the very start, when he was still being referred to as an "alien costume." Love him or hate him, there have been three What If? stories about him, a fourth where he has a brief but significant part (#31), and a fifth with his offspring, Carnage. Throw in his origin, from Uncanny Origins #7 (1997), and I think this would be a cool read.
The Venom/ Deadpool issue is a collected one-shot of the four-part back-up from these issues: What If? Iron Man: Demon In An Armor, What If? Wolverine: Father, What If? Spider-Man and What If? Dark Reign.
