The Venom symbiote originally bonded with Peter Parker, AKA Spider-Man, during his adventure in the first Secret Wars on the Beyonder's planet called Battleworld. Initially, he thought the symbiote was just an attire. However, upon his discovery, he rejected it because he realized that it was sentient. Since then, the symbiote has bonded with several other hosts, including Eddie Brock, Angelo Fortunato, Flash Thompson, Ann Weying, and even Carol Danvers. Currently, its host is Eddie Brock.
Not sure if anyone read Carnage#1 but the governement already has Symbiote based guy in their control. So I can imagine this new venom would fall into the same line
@G-Man: the "New Avengers" may not work for the government but what about the regular Avengers. They work for Steve Rogers and Steve is the new top cop who answers to the President so in a way the government already has their own Spider-Man....kinda. But I guess the government will never completely trust Super-Heroes who aren't completely under their heel will they?
I only read the first page of comments, so excuse me if I repeat anyone, but if it's John Jameson, I'd say everything will go just fine, until he turns into Man-Wolf.
@G-Man: it kinda looks like a noir venom, and i wonder if they are going to do a full story reboot and if they do which way are they going to do the introduction of venom... if the creators do I have to ask if they are going to go with the whole falling out of space on a meteorite or if they do the whole space shuttle crash and rather than the symbiote stick to Spidey it instantly sticks to Jameson.
I think it will be John Jameson as well but the military look sucks IMO and looking at that version of it makes me think Punisher woul be behind the mask which would be interesting but is not something i want to have happen
@G-Man: It's going to be Flash Thompson think about it he's the only person that Spidey knows that's a soldier not counting any of his Super Hero community and would have a really reason to want that symbiote John Jameson is out because after all the things he's been through such as the time he Man Wolf and when he had super powers in amazing spider-man #42 I don't think he'd be too happy about joining with a mass murdering symbiote
this. too early to judge. sounds like a pretty good idea imo. also, some of you are saying the artwork isn't good...the series may switch up its artists. *shrugs* who knows
I hope it's either flash or John but it's probably not going to be vin since he's connected to Norman Osborn and the military look is the bestt venom costume
Anyone else fed up of hearing this all the time from writers and publishers? It probably won't stop trying to lure people into it with that phrase. Why not something like 'the writing's fantastic' or 'taking a new bold direction' Huff over.
@G-Man: Exactly what I was thinking, G-Man. Plus, I believe I read (Don't quote me on this) that whoever the new host is, he or she will sort of become dependant on the symbiote and possibly even depressed when they're seperated from it, which makes sense for Thompson, since being seperated from it would be like losing his legs all over again every time it happens.
Its Flash Thompson, out of all teh candidates he is the only one that would fit and make it interesting. Besides he would be the first venom to NOT hate Spider-man which is an interesting twist
@The Hobgoblin: Flash would be cool. He was always Spidey's biggest fan. He'd jump at the chance to be a "Spider-man". Plus he'd get his legs back. it's a win-win situation. By the way, the militaristic Venom suit looks awesome, even if all that gear is unnecessary.
I love this new direction the character is going in, a government agent role sounds like we will see a lot more action, and with the government in control, it sounds like a recipe for disaster on an epic scale. It's only a matter of time until they lose control of the suite. I can't wait for this new series. VENOM RULES!!!!
Tony Moore was interviewed on a recent episode of the Television Zombies podcast. When asked what was was next for him, Moore talked about a pitch he proposed for a popular character from the 90's that hasn't been seen for awhile.

agreed. but i think he is only it half the time. its definately vin gonzalez. and im a little hopeful since rick remmender is one of the best writers out there. still, i think this is a bad idea. and im stickin with my guess that while the new venom is vin, eddie will stay anti-venom and mac will be carnage or something like it. "

The second one is the look for him? Well, that's definitely different. Could be worth it if Venom eventually starts taking more liberties with his newfound authority.
