I think this book looks interesting. All the power none of the responsibility:
Dark Reign: Sinister Spider-Man #1
Writer: Brian Reed
Artist: Chris Bachalo
Release Date: June 24, 2009

He ain't friendly and this ain't your neighborhood! Yes, Mac Gargan, America's favorite sociopath-turned-symbiote-host-turned-hero-hunter now takes the spotlight as Norman Osborn's sinister Spider-Man.
With the Dark Reign-a-raining, the lives of our mighty marvel heroes are being destroyed left and right – but for guys like Mac, the world is their oyster and the chef's covering the bill. Mac's a beloved hero. Women love him, men want to be him and nobody wants to run into him after midnight – because the symbiote is still pretty darn hungry...
Venom
Character » Venom appears in 2797 issues.
The Venom symbiote originally bonded with Peter Parker, AKA Spider-Man, during his adventure in the first Secret Wars on the Beyonder's planet called Battleworld. Initially, he thought the symbiote was just an attire. However, upon his discovery, he rejected it because he realized that it was sentient. Since then, the symbiote has bonded with several other hosts, including Eddie Brock, Angelo Fortunato, Flash Thompson, Ann Weying, and even Carol Danvers. Currently, its host is Eddie Brock.
Sinister Spider-Man
Wow, that will be absolutly awesome. After the Hawkeye mini series I hope they keep the level of qualitiy. [more]
Same here. Some of these tie-ins look astounding. Dark Reign Zodiac and Dark Reign Mister Negative as well.
I don't usually like that art but I feel like it's great for Venom.
Oh I love Bachalo! I hope this is good though.
yea venom is pretty sweet, and its cool that its a very unique storyline for him, not just him hunting spidey or whatever. i think it will be done right and pretty stoked about it.
This looks really cool.
Ever since Venom's image went in the can (come on, he was tall as a goddamn building when they fought Morgan Le Fey), I figured all hope was lost, but this issue looks promising. In these few pictures it shows how the Venom suit doesn't have to be an over the top slobbering mess of fangs.
Hopefully we'll get to see some fangs though lol.
its a really great book series. one of the best Venom books in awhile. it unfortunatly gets dismissed alot due to Gargan bias.
i cant say read it enough. even the letters column is worth it.
lol
Yeah the letters are hilarious. I think Gargan is an interesting Venom. I love the JJJ dynamic in it too.
did you get to issue #2 yet?
lol@ Doctor Everything. hahaha!
and hey, everyone thought Gargan was great when he was introduced for the Sinister Twelve. i think the problem is in recent years the writers jobbed him, and had him lose and not do anything cool for years, kind of like Ares.
I agree. I like the new spin on him now so I must give Reed his credit.
lololol at Doctor Everything! No pants!
I like how they brought back the original black spiderman suit to the new Venom. I also like how his character is, wonderful in the public eye, horrifying to his enemies and others. Also, I still like that he can look like the insane sharp toothed, tongue flicking, epic muscle bound Venom that we all hold dear in our hearts.
Sinister Spider-Man kicked ass, the last issue really left me down...a lot..but I'm excited to see where the Anti-Venom series is going.
